  1. It’s like what Seight said “privatize profits and socialize losses” a lot of wealthy people had several college educations forgiven, seriously some had loans in the hundreds of thousands
  2. It wasn’t to point out a hypocrisy, only an acknowledgment that they do it, but at this time in history, it’s not as damaging as the Ivy League because they aren’t as well known or sought after like their Ivy League counterparts. Save for Moorehouse, Howard and Spelman, which are pretty well known and highly regarded options to higher education. Quite a few HBCUs have closed down or lost accreditation. You never hear that happening to the Ivy League schools
  3. Don’t feel too bad I made pretty dumb ass decisions during my college years too. Hell, I didn’t even graduate 🫠 The HBCUs have legacy admissions as well, but at this point in time, they aren’t an equivalent evil to the Ivy League or other elite schools counterparts and for exactly the reasons you said.
  4. Aren’t Howard, Spelman and Moorehouse some of the most prestigious universities in the nation? https://hbculegacyfoundation.org/
  5. I’m sorry but any argument supporting legacy admissions are bad arguments. Having a family member or members attending a university in the past has absolutely zero to do with the current person applying today. A huge chunk of Harvard’s (and the other Ivy leagues) student body are legacy way more than any affirmative action admissions #endlagacyadmissions https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1060361
  6. Can someone explain to me like I’m 5, why were PPP loans acceptable but student loan forgiveness, not? It wasn’t even forgiving the entire loan, or for all students. With the PPP loan, as long as a percentage went to your payrolls it was forgiven. How many wealthy people do you suppose took out PPP loans and the payroll was the wealthy jerkoff and a small handful of friends. My brother worked at a corporate owned restaurant. They got 2 PPP loans but only looked out for the employees on the first one.
  7. Unfortunately unless our systems of government do a completely overall it’s gonna be a long time before that happens. This SCOTUS is going to be this awful for a very long time. Twenty years and that’s the low end, but I agree with your sentiment definitely
  8. Between the affirmative action ruling limiting the scope of race considerations for university and college admissions and this ruling allowing people to discriminate and say it’s their first amendment rights to not participate in speech (that isn’t their speech or representative of their company in any way) they don’t believe in. “She wasn’t refusing to make websites for people in the lgbtq community….she was only refusing to MAKE SAME SEX wedding websites! See the difference? It’s not discrimination based on sexual orientation, that’s certainly not allowed, it’s free speech protections.” complete circus
  9. This court is a clown shoes court
  10. You can still weaponize pot smoke. Your fatality could be you surround your opponent’s head with pot smoke and when the smoke dissipates the loser rips their own face off, or they rip their head off. Something like that. 😆
  11. Yeah congress did threaten highway funds if the states didn’t raise the drinking age nvm NY doesn’t allow that anymore either damn lol
  12. They didn’t do a going forward? They actually removed the privilege?
  13. Man, I really wish I could still be here when we all die at the same time. I hope that an incensed mob kills all the Uber rich trying to flee the planet first. That’s gonna be a totally badass time to be alive….and then quickly dead.
  14. Yeah and he’s a complete and total asshole. Him getting a regular gig on Welcome to Flatch was the worst thing that ever happened to him. you at least are cool af and good looking not like that clown
  15. Holy shit Indonesia is sinking so fast they’re moving the capital city of Jakarta. Wow nothing to see here. We can’t stop this anyway cuz tectonic shifts and stuff
  16. Lol Manhattan is sinking under the weight of its own buildings 😬 https://phys.org/news/2023-05-york-weight.amp
  17. My fatality would be blowing so much pot smoke into my opponent’s mouth that they explode
  18. B-b-but muh billions!
  19. Any 19 yo about to be 17 is gonna be so mad 😆 I like how S Korea allows people to buy cigarettes and alcohol on the year they turn 19 and not the literal day they turn 19. I think that’s pretty cool.
  20. Is that what MD did, or did she just point out that they brought the cases because they’re the people not getting in because “there are too many Asians here already” is what they’re told?
  21. Not necessarily but definitely someone ignoring the roadblocks that other POC, especially Black and Latinos face in many public school systems around the country. There are thousands of children that are definitely deserving of an Ivy League education but racial, social and economic barriers make it extremely difficult.
  22. Ok so now universities will be majority Asian and fuck it all for other POC? How about we get rid of legacy admission too because whose hole you fell out of and the pole that placed it there shouldn’t have bearing on admissions either.
  23. Our planet does wobble or switch poles from time to time but damn a lot of tons of liquid was removed from the earth’s aquifers it would not be surprising if that leads to long term consequences. lol at best there’s a new argument for why being vegan is not the high holy ethical choice that they think it is.
  24. I have no idea what you’re talking about you probably never posted it. Not probably. You didn’t post it here 😆
  25. We’re all gonna die? Farmers have pumped so much ground water from the planet it’s affected the Earth’s spin https://www.livescience.com/planet-earth/human-impact-on-earths-tilt-leaves-researchers-surprised-and-concerned
