it's out next week at a price of $24.99

not to mention video games....there's not much too look forward to this year...except more bad news of the corona virus killing more people
-
reruns are fine as a short term solution but if we're here same time next year and anime production is still halted then what's the plan? black clover's going on indefinite hiatus until further notice in japan btw.... https://mobile.twitter.com/WSJ_manga/status/1253171277814067201

because MHA is off the block after the next episode(no dubbed episode ready in time for the week afterwards)and they need something to shove in there quickly considering the slowdown funimation has due to dubs at home they'll need some more time to finish out the MHA Season

Hazbin Hotel - Hell is getting interest in your animated pilot
CountFrylock replied to Jman's topic in Movies & Television
still...with just the pilot you don't really know enough about the characters to buy merchandise with them on it -

yeah i doubt that will work...how many indie animated shows do you see on youtube?(not many...) regardless i think it's kind of silly how there's already so much merchandise for a show that's just a pilot with the statement being "the money you spend on shirts and pins goes towards the show!" but when you only have a pilot....it's kind of difficult to buy merchandise and promote something that may not even come out for all we know leaving the merchandise as some reminder of what could have been -
if cowboy bebop takes the lead spot soon...I'll just shake my head anytime a rerun has taken the lead role it's never turned out well....
-
it's a return of an old beat em up series so it's not really everyone's cup of tea I'll admit
-
yeah basically there's a bunch of those

Paranoia Agent (yes really!) replacing Food Wars
CountFrylock replied to Top Gun's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
that well's gonna continue to be dry until this pandemic passes unfortunately that's the difference between then and now....back then the world wasn't shutdown due to a virus so we didn't have to worry about shows being yanked because they ran out of dubbed episodes and needed some filler on the block that's my main concern...that toonami will need a lot of filler shows until this pandemic runs it's course and that stuff like black clover due to the slowed down process of at home dubbing will have it's time slot constantly rotated more often than it should be and for the short term...that will work but the longer this pandemic lasts the more drastic changes toonami will have to make to the block with stuff such as S2 of fire force and dr.stone as well as SAO war of underworld Part II delayed indefinitely i think Paranoia agent's introduction to the block was just the beginning -
because adultswim has driven that anime into the ground more than any other i think it's a personal favorite for many of the staff

Paranoia Agent (yes really!) replacing Food Wars
CountFrylock replied to Top Gun's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
since there's been zero word on DS's replacement at this point i expect a rerun(modern or classic) -
just being realistic...out of all reruns cowboy bebop is the most likely to start off the block if MHA has to vanish soon the problem then becomes what about when MHA Returns? it'd be awkward to put it back in for just a few more episodes and then have to replace that slot so soon

yeah no matter what anyone says...PA doesn't really seem like something that would be wise to air currently because well it is a bleak series it's marketing always pushed it as that -
i think RE3 Remake coming out so close to FF7 Remake was just oooof
-
true but at the same time i feel like PA is marketed on being dark and dreary they sell the show on it being a depressing bizarro show that screws with the mind it has been too long since i last saw PA and i suppose the reason i believed it to be dark and suicidal level depressing all the time is because the dreary stuff like i said is what's generally promoted in material for PA even the toonami promo made it look like someone's deranged mental breakdown
-
I'm not sure how you'd even fit that into toonami unless it's over the top ice skating in the way that food wars was over the top wacky food battles we have to remember first and foremost toonami is an action block true there are always some shows that pop up that aren't action themed but those are in the minority and the majority of major shows that toonami picks up are action themed most importantly this isn't the cw where they can air whatever progressive shows they want without consequences this is still adultswim which shares a channel with cartoon network and they do have to appease advertisers sad to say a show like Yuri On Ice probably wouldn't make them happy at all a reason why we never saw the Fujiko Mine Lupin series(because it was too risky for american television...)
-
is it actually more positive than i remember? because i watched it long ago on adultswim and what i can remember is dreary and dark it doesn't mesh well with the rest of the block when you see how the other shows at least have some sense of hope and positivity i doubt anyone has ever used either of those words to describe Paranoia agent

no word on Episode 85 Of MHA....so chances are likely Cowboy bebop will be the lead show after next week
