Yearly-ish inspections are a common occurrence for most apartments in the city I live in. I only mentioned Ohio because the state is about as far as I'll go when posting about where I live online. >.>

I can never ever ever get it to work. I start out thinking "Alright! This time I'll finally blow it up ALL THE WAY!", but as soon as the balloon necks, I get both an intense feeling of anxiety over the risk of it suddenly popping as well as an even more intense urge to tie it off and hug/cuddle it. And then I always chicken out and tie it off. Oh well. At least I get another cuddle buddy with each failure.

Around here, most apartment complexes are owned by big out-of-city (or sometimes out-of-state) businesses that manage a ton of real estate. It's not uncommon for such businesses to have regular inspections to make sure people aren't destroying the property (unless they're slumlords).

If they ask (which they probably will), I'm probably just gonna tell them I like having balloons around.
