Surely it wouldn't be terrible! And yet it was. Actually, no. Ballmastrz isn't terrible. It's just... forced. Specifically, the characters are forced. Loud, annoying, one-dimensional, schizophrenic, occasionally ugly... Not what I'm looking for in my American animes. The only characters of the bunch I really liked were Gaz, Baby Ball, and maybe that grey alien on the Leptons, but everyone else - yes, even Ace - came off as forced and hard to handle. Now I'm sure they get better as the series goes on, but based on the first two episodes I watched outside of the block a year or two ago... I don't think I'm ready to take that plunge yet. Sorry, Ballmastrz, looks like my chance to come around to you will have to wait for another day. Also, fuck you for making me think DeeDee was into Ace when it turned out she was actually into that pretentious poet of a token bored slacker guy. Eh, I'm more of a "Rias and Akeno" guy myself. Also Xenovia, even though I know next to nothing about her as a character. I'd personally want to live in a sports anime, nothing of consequence to background characters ever happens in those.

Is that the equality PSA from 2013 or so? I actually liked that one, even without the greater real-world context. Very appropriate audio-visual match-ups.

The way it sounds, it's more of a "show's we're producing and premiering new" thing than it is an "every single show we're streaming" thing. Ain't nothing you can do about cigarette use in shows that already exist.

Well, that's Netflix, and if it's how they want to do things, then all power to them. But other stations doing the same across the board - even the ones that don't have impressionable kids in their target audience - just comes off as ridiculous to me, that's all. Or maybe I just feel this way because I have OCs that smoke and it just wouldn't be "them" if I scrubbed them clean of these habits like Netflix would were they their OCs.

I actually joined the ASMB when I was 12 - I went there looking for more "songs used in each episode of Eureka seveN" lists than what was on TV.com and back then you needed an account to view the boards - and I kept quiet about that part enough that I avoided getting banned for it. The alt account I created to message character information for a Death Note community fan fiction to the writer - it was a requirement, for spoiler reasons - wound up getting banned, since you had to be 18 to use the PM function. Nayru outright told me I couldn't appeal to have it unbanned, unlike my original also-banned account to which Bast was unclear on whether or not I could appeal. My third ASMB account was the first one where I was completely honest in regards to age. Outside of some stupid things I said and butting heads with those who held grudges against my previous actions, things went smoothly in comparison. And once I had account #4, the bans came to an end and everything was (relatively) good from then on. And now you know why I was such an annoyance back then! 🤪
