    It's something we like to call a "slow burn". Besides, shows can be bright and cheery and age-appropriate-looking but still be serious crap. Ass Class's studio did that sort of thing before with their adaptation of School-Live!, a CGDCT (cute girls doing cute things) show in the middle of a zombie apocalypse that TV Tropes really doesn't want you to know about.

    Eh, Beckett's more suited for a career in creative writing than he is anime reviewing. He seems to show disdain for about half of the things he watches, to the point that it feels a little bit forced.

    Not to mention he was so repugnant the sub-villains he created out of his own flesh had a habit of betraying him!

    It'll probably be easier than Demon Slayer, since this is with VIZ and not Aniplex.

    The moment I saw all that space stuff, my first thought was the Meido Zangetsuha, which used space as its aesthetic, so I like to think it was a battle with as much destructive power as that move, but without all the brokenness of it.
