  1. So this is what, an anime version of The Revenant? Actually, don’t answer that. I have negative interest in seeing it. Ever.
  2. There’s a reason I think he wants to dub the new Super Robot Wars. Apparently the animation is from the people doing the Netflix Ultraman.
  3. It’s one of those shows that if you aren’t directly in front of it, you have no real feelings on it. Not to mention this was what, 2009, 2011? This was before pretty much EVERYTHING was On Demand. I mean these days, Kekkaishi on say, Hulu, is something you scroll past to watch Goblin Slayer, not a good chunk of the only anime premiering on US TV that week not selling children’s card games. Come to think of it, the reaction to Kekkaishi in a pre and post On Demand world is a rather fascinating microcosm of what choice does for the consumer and how it lets people ignore shows they otherwise would have to acknowledge.
  4. Literally the only time people had feelings about it was when Adult Swim Action picked it up in its death throes, and everyone was trying to convince themselves it was a good idea. It was telling when Toonami started they began by airing all the stuff ASA didn’t pick up, like Soul Eater.
  5. ...It was a joke. Because he’s a Bebop fanboy? Speaking of, I can only wonder how old Ransla is taking this. Probably how Moose took the idea of LA One Piece on HBO.
  6. Someone without a lot of original ideas. Bonus - This is the same company that is making the LA One Piece. Expect announcements on that soon.
  7. https://variety.com/2018/tv/news/cowboy-bebop-live-action-series-netflix-1203038458/ Hopefully it’s more akin to Bleach than Death Note.
  8. It’s a pretty harsh take on the idol business and and how it affects people. It’s also damn funny.
  9. SSSS Gridman 7. The dub Alexis went full Tim Curry this week.
  10. Looks like DeMarco amended the list to include SAO and Gridman.
  11. Expelled from Paradise.
  12. Goblin Slayer 4. Some Devilman clips -
  13. Yeah, but that was Batman with Z list villains, right after the success of Brave and the Bold. No one gave a crap about Magpie and Anarky when they wanted Catwoman and the Joker.
  14. Hey I want SSSS Gridman on the block, so don’t ask me. It and Goblin Slayer are the only two shows I’m consistently following, well that and whatever antics are in Zombieland Saga this week. And who requested Part V of Lupin when Part IV was kind of a ratings flop? Yeah, I’m confused. I mean Slayer is obvious, it’s the most watched sub in every state, but the rest have me scratch my head.
  15. Goblin Slayer is the only thing there that makes a lick of sense.
  16. Fair enough, I just tend to categorize the news on that Toonami connection.
  17. That one Manga about the firefighters from the Soul Eater guy is getting an anime.
  18. It’s apparently rumored that they’re going to AGAIN try to make this version in the US (the last two attempts, each a decade apart were foiled by a company saying no). I’m sure that if they could dub this DeMarco would fund it out of his own pocket to bring the Bebop crew back together. Anyone want to ask his take on it? Edit - English trailer. Just subs so far, no evidence of a dub.
  19. He’s devolved from the only kaiju Gridman couldn’t outright defeat to Team Rocket for Ultras. You can’t help but feel bad for the poor idiot.
  20. Depends if you’re interested in all the other crap VRV offers to make up the increased cost. Crunchyroll, old kung fu movies, Nicktoons, Boomerang, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, horror movie archives, and a ton of other stuff.
  21. Generally speaking, real and super robots team up in these franchises without hassle (they’re separated into two categories with each having different strengths and weaknesses), but since Yamato 2199 showed up in V, a lot of non-mecha ships have made appearances, like freaking Nadia in Super Robot Wars X. Look, do you want Spike back or not?
  22. For those of you who have no idea what the hell I’m talking about, Super Robot Wars is a long running series of strategy games in which the representatives of various giant robot anime team up against villains from their own shows and original content. Oftentimes, the writers are credited with making far better stories out of the licensed anime, such as their takes on Fafner and SEED being considered near unanimously better than the actual anime’s. Anyway, the new one, Super Robot Wars T, was just announced, and among the odd announcements is the inclusion of Cowboy Bebop (alongside Magic Knight Rayearth and Captain Harlock as well). The games are unfortunately a licensing nightmare to release locally but they do have English translations on the disc. This also marks the first new Bebop content in possibly decades. But if you don’t mind importing, this may be the only franchise on the planet where you can see Spike team up with Captain Harlock and the cast of Mobile Suit Gundam.
  23. Funny enough, Alternative is considered the one genuinely good thing to come out of SAO. Figures.
