    I think part of what people find jarring is the slow... halting way they say so much of the dialogue. But it almost seems like it was intended by the director.

    If by cheap you mean they had pictures of Demarco violating children then I agree. You don't just pick up a show that had a universal backlash against it like that without reasons. Demarco's anti fanservice so we now know conclusively why Fairytail never aired despite years of requests.
