death_by_motorboat replied to death_by_motorboat's topic in Free-For-All
well people would definitely complain about me being a cabbie is for the busiest hours in the streets, bars, drunks, parties. you have to be rude to half these people just so you dont loose it. uber users are seem like, closeted or something to me -

i drove for yellow cab and they had the area's needs met and tons of repeat customers, everything was fine and then spanish speaking drivers from a different company had a better engagement than us to the hispanic community... then two smaller spanish speaking companies opened. so at that point we lost a ton of customers. we had many charge account for the county, medical, courts, and some others. that was keeping it going for a long time. its also very hard to find good drivers that can connect with the community and be there when they're needed. they were stealing, lying and treating customers poorly. one time a driver slid off the road on ice and told his customer they had to get out so he could call a tow truck, all of which was not necessary, and a second cab could have been called to get the customers to their destination. he was a speeder (85 miles per hour he got popped in a 45 once), even charged those customers for the ride. over the years it just stopped making as much money as the other companies and he finally called it quits. -

i was always under the impression that those areas of the boardz were for more technical, professional, and intelligent post or topics. i tried to switch to only OA, but no one would reply to me. i even tried replying to posts that werent directed at me. no luck there either. no one wants to be an called an idiot. IB is sort of a cataclysmic void, where people talked about what was on their mind personally, and not to promote an idea of oneness or share some kind of common goal. that goes for topical posts too, nothing could escape IB's pull. we may have been called idiots but the void of IB was an undisturbed black hole that served its purpose greatly. -

there were no calls from midnight to 6AM almost everyday. they would have five drivers parked, freezing in the winter, or just wishing they had a better job in the warm weather. there was a lot of crap that came with that job, so like most change, im accepting it as a good thing. im glad they closed the doors. i wish everyone luck there, and im sorry they lost their jobs, some of them have been drivers for 25 years, so yeah good luck and i hope they find another place to fit in. the company was apparently losing money for the past few years.

c'mon restaurants dont really have unlimited choices. olive garden isnt any worse than say bonanza or ponderosa... & i love bonanza who here has ever been to bonanza? i usually get the pepper and onion tips rare and chicken wings from the buffet. i like old country buffet too. so many restaurants i think i love them all or most. i used to live in a very heavily populated hispanic area, and i would eat out at family-run mexican diners and puerto rican bars. -

i found this site in one of Roggo's facebook posts, so i would recommend keeping your accounts that people can find just by surfing around the web and curiosity, active so that if they do look for you they will find you and the new board. also check the friends lists of those people that do still keep in contact, like the Incoherent Babbling group on facebook. maybe if you to tweet to [as] regularly people could find the board that way, because they will follow it back to the UEMB twitter and join. -

there isnt any evidence to support that. -
like adding garlic or onion to hamburger helper or making your own fajita mix thats got an ingredient thats not normally in fajita mix like, diced potatoes; using a variation on an already existing recipe is a fun way to learn about tastes and ingredients. i use fresh cold tomatoes, oil, peppers, and garlic and just call it fresca, i use clams, tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, sausage, carrots and hot sauce and call it fra diablo. a lot of tweaks you can do to existing recipes. do you mix it up a little in the kitchen?
