  1. made key lime cookies yesterday. i'm calling them 'not key lime cookies'. really great stuff. i think i'm going to tweak this a bit and make a curd glaze. making 'elvis cookies' now, that is, they are chilling before going into the oven. these do not use eggs. pics to come.

  6. poor snek. it had round eyes...i don't think it was venemous. (sp) would have bitten, but i've been bitten by garter snakes before. little brats. but i digress. i did it guys, i got my business license. herb house on the hill : cottage foods, sauces and fiber arts products. launch on 5/26 (foods primarily with a few macrame planters, some market bags, and hopefull a few japanese cross back aprons with material from MOOD of nyc)
  7. this upcoming week, i'm in the 'test kitchen' mode. trying black forest cookies, key lime pie cookies, and elvis cookies. also, going to work on perfecting ciabatta. i can't seem to get the air pockets in there. mine keeps coming out really dense. UGH.
  8. i will be there with you in spirit. i would also have made you an outfit had i known. i'm going to look to see if there are any protests here. sadly, this red state is beside itself with glee about this fucking mess. closest thing is in ATL. i may have to piss off the neighbors...again, and put out a sign of some sort.

  10. at approx. 0418, i woke to the sound of a high pitched, warbled call. i wanted to jump out of the bed, run to the door and scream 'STFU!' i thought of you in that moment.

  13. amazing...once again, the coherency when it comes to this type of 'fontage' out of ghost. oy. not EVEN hai enough for this shenanigans. it's like looking at molded berries. but there are a few in there without fuzz...and you kind of want to ^see^ if they taste alright, but you know....deep down, you'll get the shits? like that.

  18. i'd wait until next week (4/20 is when i will be out cleaning off the dead stuff) i'm in zone 8b. but once there is no danger of frost, and 5+ days of warm mornings (40+^), clean all that dead stuff away, turn the ground around the plants, put the dead in your compost. and get some fish emulsion on the dirt, (not the veg. you'll burn the leaves). i would also think about adding some more bulbs this fall. (tulips, iris, gladiolus, etc) such a pretty purple.
