Speaking of water, not having to tote water by the gallon from a filthy mudhole and stretch my supply for several days is cool. Sometimes I'll go on a "woe is me" trip but I consider myself fortunate to live in a rich, developed nation. My problems are very minor compared to billions of other people.

I would rather not struggle for survival at all times. My life is kind of shitty but comparatively speaking this is a fucking cakewalk. I could be scraping out a meager subsistence lifestyle in a developing nation, or I could be posting memes. Not a hard choice. Maybe I'm just soft but I like air conditioning and being able to drink water straight from the city pipes without fear of contracting a deadly disease.

Could be worse. That was really what I was thinking about. But I wouldn't know any different if I'd been born somewhere else at some other time, so I guess it doesn't matter either way. It's not really a matter of luck, it just is what it is. At least I'm not kicking around Europe in 1348, that would be a bad time.

I could also live in some part of the world that doesn't even have mobile phones yet. The possibilities are almost endless, but I ended up being some American jackoff.

I sometimes think about how there was a really, really good chance that I was born into a peasant Chinese family living on a budget of ten dollars a week, but instead I'm sitting here shitposting and memeing on a obscure little message board full of strange people with electric light AND toilet paper for my ass after I take a dump.
