  1. That would be her business.
  2. He was never afraid of anybody at all. As long as he could hide behind his desk and prattle about how much authority he had, he felt invincible. I enjoyed busting his bubble.
  3. On a similar note, during that short lived stint on 12pm to 8pm shift, one day the department manager found himself short handed and wanted me to work a 12 hour shift. But, he didn't have the courage to tell me that himself. Two hours into my shift, he sent my favorite supervisor to give me the bad news. I punched out at 4pm and left the manager stranded without a trash hauler for eight hours. There wasn't a dawned thing he could have done about it.
  4. Have I been replaced yet? The short answer is yes. That was after six other people didn't quite work out for various reasons.
  5. In the same line, as long as the discussion has shifted to my former working conditions. There was one department manager who fought me and the union tenaciously for two years, trying to flip my schedule from 4pm to 12am and instead have me work from 12pm to 8pm. He finally succeeded. The problem was that he didn't schedule anybody at all to work 4am to 12pm. I walked into a trash nightmare every day, with seven foot piles of trash in areas that were visible to the public. I started going into work at 10am and taking pictures of those piles. Then, the inevitable happened. A senior manager from upstairs came to my department during a preshift briefing and said he wanted to take a few suggestions. I showed him the pictures and said that's what happens when there's no morning shift guy. We'll, hot dog, my schedule was put right back where it belonged and suddenly we had a morning shift guy. I wonder what that senior manager had said to the department manager.
  6. Can you do it repeatedly?
  7. Closer to Dog the Bounty Hunter, only without the ripped abs.
  8. Well, I'm not exactly Wilt Chamberlain over here.
  9. The empty dumpster weighed 130. More with a load.
  10. I didn't. Most of that wasn't my trash to begin with.
  11. That video doesn't show shit about the bags.
  12. About 380 for this trash.
  13. A lot of those were and I wasn't the only guy putting trash there. There were also the housekeeping department and the food and beverage porters.
  14. So, it was forty over my head. I could still add another ten.
  15. Yeah... that's exactly what to expect when management decides not to have the compactor replaced on a regular basis.
  16. Now, how much did you think the dumpster weighed when I had to push it up a long ramp?
  17. Nice job, editing. That was forty and could still add another ten.
  18. Alright, smartass... how do you lift with your legs when the bag has to be lifted over the rim of a four foot tall trash can and placed in the rolling dumpster, also four feet tall? Remember, the bottom of the four foot long bag has to clear the rims. You lift with your legs when the load starts on the floor.
  19. Anybody around here see Funky Phantom? It's kind of like Scooby Doo, except one guy in the business is a ghost from the 18th century.
  20. These are commercial grade bags, not available in retail stores. My lifting? I made you aware before that I was able to lift a fifty pound dumbell over my head with one arm and even posted a video of it. As for casino trash, yes it was part of my argument. I told management repeatedly to switch from glass to aluminum cans. They ignored me. That's negligence as far as workplace safety is concerned.
  21. You don't know much about casino trash. It's mostly liquids and broken glass. That's very heavy stuff. The casino doesn't use small cans.
  22. I know the correct way to lift a heavy thing. Keep the load very close. Unfortunately, that's not doable when working as a janitor. Those 75 or 80 pound trash bags are quite often drippy and slimy. Holding them close wrecks the uniform and could cause fungal infection. I held the bags with arms extended.
  23. I did, back in middle school. 30 feet up. Now? Not with spinal stenosis.
  24. That question doesn't warrant an answer
