  1. the AS dude on 4chan is saying it's going to be comparable to the 2012 Toonami stunt. It's NOT that, but comparable to that. now i'm sad I don't have cable.
  2. in the meantime here are some memories of Adult Swim April Fools days gone by...
  3. I tried to find a place I could hang and wait and find out what it was (don't have cable atm). But the AS social network feeds are shit. So I am on 4chan. waiting for something to pop.
  4. this show is one of those that's like dopamine or something to me. Like no matter what shit's going on, plop me in front of TPB and I'm instantly calm and smiling like doped up mental patient.
  5. "holster your weapon ricky!" "holster my tits randy!"
  6. 1. Zeni's schtick is zeni's schtick. At worst I find it sort of boring. I've never understood the visceral reaction to schtick on the internet. It's stupid. The schtick is pretty stupid, and overreacting to it I think is actually more stupid. 2. Moose is the one and only real ban (besides spambots). He was banned for basically having a screaming fit on the board, telling us over and over again to ban him, telling us that there's no way we could ever keep him off here, posting death threats to other members, just - basically doing his Moose thing and being totally out of control in every sense and, part of that was even a request (nay, a demand even) that he be banned. So - other members were like "why is this guy not banned??" and he was like "BAN ME" and while this place is a lot more liberal than a corporate board, you can only freak so much the fuck out before we actually have to do something. So banning Moose was kind of a no-brainer. 3. Ignore feature exists, use it or not, but we're not going to start banning people we have a mild dislike for or even a visceral hatred of, nor are we going to put it to a vote. If someone actually does something extreme enough to be banned, we will do that. Until that happens, the fact that a user annoys you personally, and you have the ability to blow their posts out of proportion and/or attempt to manipulate people into agreeing with you by threatening to leave the board, or whatever else, makes no real difference. Hang or don't hang. Use the ignore feature or don't. We are definitely not going to start banning people because they personally annoy you.
  7. I'm going to watch this at some point in the next hour or so.
  8. oo this is tonight actually. I missed a lot of AS April Fools due to not realizing they mostly happened on the 31st (after 12am) instead of on the actual 1st when that block begins (which was usually like 10pm).
  9. I would say of all 4, Mauro is the one I would keep if I had to pick just one of them. And so - of course he's the one out the door. Mauro has what JR had. that ability to call an exciting and informative match, injecting some emotion in there when required. There really isn't another announcer on the payroll that can call matches anywhere near as good as Renallo. Not even in the ballpark.
  10. also not in the least bit surprised to see Dave Erikson gone from Fear the Walking Dead. That show fell completely apart after the first 6 episodes. It's kind of everything that's wrong with TWD magnified 100x, plus new problems that TWD never had. I was kind of expecting FTWD to be gone after next season. But, by dismissing the showrunner, it means probably the show will be back for a 4th season with new blood, which we'll have to see. I thought with TWD, Darabont did a great job, with Mazzara things started to go south a bit, but then Gimple came in and things got a bit more interesting. Though I think if Gimple has a fault, it's that the mix is a little too rich and overreaching for a mainstream audience, and the overreach sometimes interferes with establishing an overall mood/feel for the series. With Fear, Erikson seemed super focused for the first season episodes. But then just - the second their feet touched the ground for season two, it was in the dumper almost from the very first scene, and while there are still some cool things in there each episode, the series as a whole has never pulled itself together for me. That second season was pretty stinko overall. And I say that as a fan of the show, I like the show, I like some of what was done creatively, I think it's technically sound. But the storyline for season two was a mess. Almost unwatchable. The show definitely needs new blood. It wasn't even like a steady decline for me (like TWD under Mazzara) but just went from really awesome one season to a mess the next. Not sure what happened there. But I hope whoever the new showrunner is, they'll pull it all together. TWD and FTWD are such giant departures in the realm of Television, I'm sure it's super difficult to find a good showrunner for them that's not going to either collapse the franchise into mundanity or overreach and spread the concept too thin.
  11. I think the difference between the comic and television is how - like the comic literally has one writer and one artist forever more or less. So they have longterm story plans and stuff. TV each episode is directed and written by different people. And even though there's a showrunner and people checking for character consistency and stuff, it's just harder to consolidate many different opinions about who a character is or what the story should do when if there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen. I think the result of that, any tv show (from the crappiest waste of airwaves to the best shows ever produced) will be somewhat uneven from season to season, episode to episode, and even scene to scene. This season of TWD I think has had some of the best writing of the series. But the whole season hasn't had that. For every spectacular little bit of writing, there are a couple of really badly assembled or executed scenes or storylines. And I really don't think it's quite as huge a deal as people make it out to be, it's just that the show is so high-profile, that it's open to more criticism just due to its omnipresence on the cultural landscape. I think a lot of the criticism is correct, some of it is undeserved. At its core and in its day-to-day production, it's very good work creatively and technically. But everything is flawed, and sometimes the better something is, the more glaring those flaws seem. so creative and commercial success is something of a double-edge sword that I think probably bothers somebody like Scott Gimple more than an entity like AMC, who are just happy to cash the checks.
  12. the new stuff is set up. I was pretty thorough, but there's still a lot of crap to click/check/consolidate etc (permissions are in like 80 different places for the same stuff, it's crazy). basically new users should be able to access and post in the Introductions area and Free For All boards no matter what. Guests (people not logged in) should be able to access and post on the Password Recovery board no matter what. All users have a set of invisible ranks for each section of the board. New users have to be assigned those. so as soon as we get that, they should be good to go for posting everywhere. if you find that your buttons have disappeared to post/reply to threads, or post new threads, or you can't access parts of the board you'd like to, let me know and I should be able to fix it in a minute or so of reading/seeing the PM.

    Rolling dice

if I quote this post, the quoted post lists the roll as having been tampered with, even though it has not. As long as the roll is clean in the original post, it should be considered a legal/untampered with roll. this is simply a glitch in the feature.

you can also roll more than one die in a post. for example if your GM asks you to make a saving throw vs paralysis and one against you dexterity, you can simply type paralysis save: [ roll]1d20[/roll ] dex check: [ roll ]1d20[/roll ]
  17. awww man it didn't go through. got a "failure to deliver" notice. ah well. kind of didn't expect it to.
  18. I just found a super old email from 2005 from slymenstra_hymen (not the Gwar dancer, the ASMB user). I totally just now tried it to see if it worked and sent her a link to this place.
  19. when he missed his second show I was kind of seeing the writing on the wall there. but what pisses me off the most is - like so - they have Renallo in there, and if you have Mauro, you really don't even need anybody else. Tom Phillips is a nice balance to that and then JBL is a good color/heel announcer. But so - they cram David Otunga in there too. which - ? He basically just sits there show after show with a dumbass expression on his face like he doesn't understand facial expressions so he just plasters a "smile-like" countenance on his face. And whenever he opens his mouth, his voice is so soft you can barely hear him and he only says pretty much pointless/inane things. He's literally a waste of space. Every time they show the announce table, it looks ridiculous with four guys crammed into that space, especially with Otunga sitting scrunched off to the side with that dumb look on his face. One of the things I hate about WWE is - like guys like Damian Sandow and Jack Swagger are shown the door and guys like Otunga do nothing and are just there every week. doing nothing.
  20. Nakamura hasn't been on the shelf long, but it still feels like forever.
