so I added subcategories to all the FanFic sections, so people should be able to submit Fanfics for just about anything they want.

yeah, it's a bit slower than the ASMB was, but many familiar faces popping in recently. also welcome!

also I grabbed a bunch of themes I'll probably try out, both mobile and dark. Though I'm reasonably certain we'll have the same issues with them that we've had with this one and the previous one.

Honestly we may end up just sacrificing my personal aesthetic of having a dark theme just so we can get a functional theme up and running that's compatible with the mods we need. Curve seems to be the theme that's least glitchy and most compatible with mods and mobile use. I hate the generic look of it. But it may well be inevitable that we're going to have to use it.

actually Zintar was going to chip in a tiny bit to tide us over til a couple weeks from now when I could scrape together enough to cover it. but basically, in most aspects, we'll be continuing to grow and improve. Hopefully fast enough to suit people. but if not, I'm doing pretty much all I can to facilitate things happening as quickly as I can. And I have a lot of deficits in terms of knowledge etc that's slowing us down. Also, like if I was JUST focusing on the creative stuff I want to do with the board, that would be a full time deal. As things are, I haven't even cracked that stuff yet because I have ever expanding lists of stuff I have to deal with on the technical and maintenance side. Which is sort of to be expected during the starting up of a new place, and then a transition to new software. And then the ASMB shutting down kind of derailed me a little more even beyond that. But I'm hoping to move beyond this phase so I can get into the creative end and sort of opening up on the open road with some of those elements of the UE idea. Not sure how long it'll take.

Originally I thought "categories" meant postable categories. Apparently "Categories" aren't immediately postable and require "subcategories" to be created. So I'll have to shift all that around when I get a chance.

actually I think Ice Queen is technically higher. but that also implies inequality. so carry on.

I liked the way the avatars looked on the Proboards forum. They all resized correctly according to their original dimensions, GIFs stayed GIFs, and seemed about the same size as the ones on this board. I could live with slightly smaller. Dunno why resizing doesn't seem to work on this board as neatly as it did on the other board.

this will be our board. one of the main problems with the Proboard (and why we moved) was lack of data portability. now that we have this set up, even if we moved or changed software or anything, we'll be able to take our data with us. so - I don't think we'll be moving anywhere or changing software packages in the forseeable future, but if we were ever to do that, we won't have to leave any threads, posts or user data behind the next time.

okay should be fixed. there was a middle group of ranks between Fringe and Citizen that were untied.

oooh fuck I see what it's doing. the holiday ranks aren't accepting the permissions from the ranks they are based on like they are supposed to. you're supposed to be able to set permissions up so that new ranks can inherit from existing ranks. but for some reason, the holiday ranks aren't doing that.

quote is eh. also not fantastic, but better than the other theme I think. So steps in the right direction. I'm actually not - like the theme isn't a big deal to me really as long as it's black/dark w/white text. other little tweeky bits concern me more. Like SNs showing up as their rank color and junk like that. also the text should be white. Have I mentioned that yet? because that is something I think.

so - not crazy about it. but don't hate it either. seems to help with a lot of the stuff that was wrong with the other skin. I never liked the buttons/font they used.

Text should be white. not "off black". I like it. At the very least it's more or less as good as the other one. Don't like the way the logo looks. are the plugins installing better w/this theme? also I wonder how quote looks. I will have to try that now.

We're still waiting on "post likes", I think that may list the source. Karma does not. Several plugins need to be debugged and adapted to either the theme or the software version. Post likes is one of those.

once a gjillion years ago, some friends and I were at a store, and this woman was talking to her weepy toddler and she just kept saying "let's go to wendy's. you wanna go to wendy's? let's go to wendy's. we can go to wendy's. you wanna go to wendy's? let's go to wendy's" Just over and over, like that was her one thing she pulled out whenever her child got weepy. So we started doing that every time somebody was all "where you wanna go eat?" One or more of us would just start endlessly "you wanna go to wendy's" "let's go to wendy's" etc etc.
