I'm still trying to understand why this particular war that began in October 2023 is a definite example of genocide by the Israelis against the Palestinians. Do people have short memories? You know how many times Israelis have killed Palestinians? Why is this war morally different from all the other times? It's like people were born this year and were just told what Israel - Palestine is.

Remember past election cycles when third party candidates were NOT newsworthy? In 2012, Jill Stein ran for president and I think I was the only one who knew about it.

A thought: last Tuesday's election told a story of Republican-leaning voters not showing up to vote. Usually the opposition party to the POTUS has more enthusiasm. Sure, maybe progressives are angry at Biden and won't turnout, but have we considered GOP voters not turning out for Trump?

Apparently there was a GOP debate last night and I found out about via a news notification this morning. I'm sure important things were said there.

The last issue, which came as a surprise, was a real big deal at the comic shop. But of course, "last issue" is like "the final Rolling Stones concert tour". Publishing right now is a series called Walking Dead Deluxe, a reprinting of the series in color and extra stories, etc.

The Walking Dead is unreadable and unwatchable. The best thing about it was working at a comic shop and seeing all the customers excited about the latest issue whenever it was released. That was kind of fun.

A great election day for Democrats, in other words.

In 2023 news.

I told this to my mom today and her response was, "just wait till they start dying off".

In the last three years, they've inducted Rage Against the Machine, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Jay-Z and the Foo Fighters. Not that those artists don't deserve it, but rather they've started inducting people whose music became popular while I was alive and paying attention. I feel old.

I want to like Bleach. I always rooted for the bright colors and settings and cool-looking characters to pull it off, but the best they could do is just be average. And there's a ton of boring material. At least the art is kind of nice, but it's style over substance.

It's so bright and flashy. Which could be a good thing. But this is not the good kind. It's somehow transparently phony. I'm very aware that the flashiness is intended to attract people, like the light of an anglerfish.

The first time in many years. Yes, the account I've been using for all that time has been my default setting. While interesting, that's not the point though. I was then greeted by video suggestions that generic users receive. When you first open the app without any direction from your list of ten years worth of previously watched videos. I hate it.

The New York Times has a hard-on for interviewing Trump fans. They're the worst offender of the "let's interview some hick in a diner" trope. They were still doing it in like 2022, and I always responded with "OH COME ON!"

Polls aren't predictive a year before an election. Go read a book.

The characters in Death Note are too absurd for it to be readable/watchable. I caught flack for saying this on the asmb back in the 00s, so at least it's been a long-held opinion.

Fact check: the deal between the U.S. and Iran had NOTHING to do with the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Talking like it did doesn't magically make it so.

And they're all bigoted for some reason, as if they have the standing to judge anyone else.

Kentucky is the worst place in the U.S. I've ever been to. People always say Alabama as an example of "stupid Southerners" but Kentucky makes Alabama look good. The average person in a small town there is a barely functioning adult baby with similar anger issues to New Yorkers (but it's not as endearing).

The Israeli government hates Palestinian people, so I can't definitely say IDF soldiers don't go, "let's kill that random woman and child when no one is looking."
