Especially when that doesn't apply anymore (well, it never applied period) given the recent news about the top 20 streaming shows of 2016. But again, nothing new, you ignoring facts. But, yeah, obviously, all people really care about in the long run is DBZ. You have short successess like OPM and AoT every once in a while, but nothing will ever come up to DBZ. And.... thats kinda a shame. I mean, Naruto was getting there but then it just largely stopped.

Transformers does well largely because of nostalgia and the bombastic appeal of the recent films (terrible as they are). And of course Gundam Wing was a hit and Gurren Lagann did fine for itself, but those are all really just exceptions. Robots seem more popular in Japan then they do here.

As a person who doesn't really like mecha anime, I can attest to that. I just don't really like robots very much. I much prefer a good ol' fashioned brawl between people than between robots.

You know what would be hilarious? If Super actually does worse than Kai. Do you know what that would mean? That would mean, that the viewers.... are SOOOOOOOOO obsessed with their nostalgic feelings, that they'd rather relive DBZ than experience the new chapter. That would be... lmao oh god... a different level of the mainstream not wanting to move on from DBZ. A whole new level. (granted, Super is pretty mediocre, but still)

You messed up on Kai, it got 1,124,00 total viewers. I could've told you that much about Super. If they air a Super premiere earlier, than the viewership will probably be halved between the 8pm premiere and the Toonami premiere. I guess they are trying to get around some fine print, but this decision still makes no sense to me.

Well, yeah, even though 4Kids had other Shonen Jump affairs like Shaman King and the original YuGiOh.... all of them paled in comparison to the content One Piece has. And it's not like OP is this REALLY violent series or anything... I mean it can get pretty gritty when it wants, but its in no way a Berserk. However, compared to everything 4Kids had at the time... it was clearly on a whole different level when it came to objectionable content. I mean, when one of the main characters is a chain-smoker, you already should have known you done f**ked up by trying to air this on Saturday mornings with US children tv standards in mind. But of course, it's common knowledge that One Piece apparently came as a packaged deal and 4Kids did the 'best' they could with it (which is a damn lie, but whatever).

4Kids already made plenty of shitty dubs.... but when they did One Piece.... they done f**ked up.
