Season 2 was an upgrade so we getting a thread on the show in this bitch: Is the first season perfect? No. But it's decent enought that I held on for the second season and am being rewarded for that choice. The first season has some rushing issues, so it doesn't drag at the beginning. Also, while there is rushing, you can tell that's the studio not letting showrunners have the time they needed to flesh out things because there are some really well done scenes where you can see the person behind the camera knew what they were doing but their hands were tied. Not to mention the workaround to replacing a major character at the end of the 1st season. As for the second season, we're getting a lot less rushing, and I am so surprised they managed to do the Seanchan really well. The concept of the Seanchan and how they were described in the books seemed hard to pull off, but I love their costumes and you know off jump these folks ain't fucking around. Yes, there are a lot of changes(some I don't agree with like Perrin's new reason for being pacifistic at the start), but this story can handle that because there needed to be a lot of changes. There are way too many fucking characters and some storylines that were redundant as fuck in the books. A completely accurate adaptation isn't feasible. The time it would take to film that would be a no-go for most actors, and there isn't enough money for that. And while I was able to slog through entire WoT novel slowdowns, the audience ain't sticking around for that. As a fan of the books who has realistic expectations, the most important parts for me are the characters portrayed accurately and that the main gist of their journey is translated well. The second season is delivering on that, so I'm happy and looking forward to more episode releases.

This was one of those movies I didn't think would live up to the hype, and I was sooooo wrong. Extremely glad I managed to dodge spoilers until I did get to watch it.

I considered going back to school and getting a degree for a bit, and teaching abroad was something I was thinking of if I did do that. So I did a deep dive, and while most teachers had decent to good experiences, there were horror stories about the private schools where actors and politicians sent their kids. Not trying to read anything depressing, so I quickly skimmed that article looking for the occupation of the parents and was like YUP when I read the father was a prosecutor. Here's the worst I've seen a black teacher go through(Yes, it's a little past 30 minutes, but it really lets you peek at what the kids in some private schools are like and what teachers deal with. She snuck out some footage too:

I know some are really that bad, especially the rich kids' schools. Some rich/influential parents give zero fucks about their kids and don't want to admit that mental health issues exist, so their kids end up being demons terrorizing other students. If the teachers say anything, those parents get super pissed off, and the school's administration reprimands the teacher. SK also has strict slander laws, so documenting abuse can get you jacked up legally. Teachers in those working abroad programs have really interesting stories about this and will give advice on how to avoid ending up at those schools.

He assumed that the person he saw holding the gun and beating Kelsey was another woman. It confused a lot of people following the trial why the neighbor was adamant that it was a woman until the police report and testimony were compared and we figured out the neighbor's head just couldn't compute that someone that short and dragging a woman by the hair while screaming was a man. Tory's jail call, Megan's testimony, and Kelsey's initial report to the cops all identify Tory as the one who beat Kelsey so bad she had to go to the hospital. Stay away from those blogs and podcasts, bruh. Edited to add: Rittenhouse got away with that shit because it was Wisconsin. Do not shoot someone in California and then act a fool.

Yes, I give few shits about Reed Richards and want Dev Patel for the role, but I'll take Matt Smith over Adam Driver. You give Smith a decent script, and he'll make that shit work. It did suck that the movie series wasn't handled better when they had Ioan Gruffudd. Now I'm thinking about Forever and wish I had gotten another season of it. And wait that show came out in 2014? I'm leaning towards the allegations being true because the stories coming out are consistent with each other, and she has demonstrated major boundary issues multiple times. And this is Lizzo's dance captain who wants to make sure everyone thinks they're guilty as hell: For anyone who luckily hasn't met this type of person, this bitch is a sea of red flags and is generally an awful human being. Forcing religion down the dancers' throats was one of the allegations, so that's definitely a check mark.

I have zero faith in humanity fixing this shit, but I see no reason to be a massive asshole and make it worse for people I encounter. Things still matter because we exist right now. That being said, as a person who has like super minority status, it ain't my job to fix shit. My job is to survive and find a way to live that keeps me sane.
