  1. Episode #84: "A × Fated × Awakening" Bug spray, anyone?? 1 AM tonight (2/17/18), ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  2. Episode #41: Natural For A Human Last time, two of the best characters on the show were taken out for pretty much the stupidest reason ever. How will Mikazuki handle this? Even if Iok survived Naze's kamikaze attack, he may not survive the wrath of Barbatos! And what of the enigmatic Vidar? Find out tomorrow (2/17/18) at 12:30 AM. Only Toonami!!!!
  3. Boy, one thing about the Dragonball Franchise is that some of its biggest mysteries have the stupidest answers! Toriyama:
  4. Well, that's a bizarre, overgeneralized, completely untrue statement if I ever saw one. Toonami still has a "good" reputation in the anime community with what it's airing right now. It just doesn't have the ratings it used to, and maybe not as great a reputation as it used to, but is STILL has a "good" reputation. Steve Blum is still loved pretty much universally, and though Toonami airs some divisive shows, as long as it keeps bringing the action in general, its reputation will remain strong. Sure it didn't get Devilman Crybaby or My Hero Academia, but so what? Most of what it airs, especially JoJo, Gundam, and Hunter x Hunter, is fantastic. Black Clover is SLOWLY getting better, and DBZ Kai Final Chapters has aged surprisingly poorly compared to the first 4 seasons, but at least the current arc of Dragon Ball Super seems to be offering something fresh.
  5. That would be Kill la Kill's situation times 5.
  6. Oh yeah, that is the sole exception so far. Not finishing one show in a 5+ year run so far is a pretty good track record though! Cancelling Hunter x Hunter or DBZ Kai in their final arcs would just be cruel at this point. I think the most likely show to get the One Piece treatment would be Shippuden, but I can't even see that happening unless it were to be flat-out replaced by Boruto.
  7. That was pre-revival. Post-revival Toonami has never cancelled a run mid-series except for reruns, unless you count the fact that they STILL haven't aired Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.33 yet, or that Kill la Kill's last OVA episode never aired, which seems bizarre because we got both OVA episodes of Lupin the 3rd Part IV, but that was actually the first time we've seen OVA episodes air on [as] since Durarara!!, which was similar to KLK since that last episode was a bit of an epilogue. Not airing the AOT OVAs and subjecting the country to Mikasa "Abdomen" was a miscalculation, though!
  8. I hope whatever we get for 11 PM after DBZKFC ends will be something that doesn't lose viewers near as bad as DBZKFC does, but considering how much Black Clover is underperforming at 11:30, I'm not holding my breath.
  9. Ya don't say... http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-winter-olympics-lifts-nbc-nearly-quadruple-combined-broadcast-competition/ Quick and excellent work, PI! I must admit this one caught me by surprise because I'm usually waiting until 5 PM+ for them to post. But here are the numbers: Lead-in: Family Guy (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.)– 0.931 million viewers– 0.43 A18-49 And as for Toonami: PROGRAM Viewers (000) A1849 rating A1849 (000) 10:30 Dragon Ball Super 990 0.47 611 11:00 Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters 809 0.38 484 11:30 Black Clover 647 0.30 391 12:00a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 529 0.26 333 12:30a Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 487 0.24 305 1:00a Hunter X Hunter (r) 452 0.22 280 1:30a Naruto: Shippuden (r) 423 0.21 273 2:00a Outlaw Star (r) 343 0.17 221 2:30a Space Dandy (r) 342 0.17 215 3:00a Cowboy Bebop (r) 362 0.18 237 3:30a Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig (r) 293 0.16 202 Averages: Total Viewers - 516,091 (2nd worst so far for 2018); Adults 18-49 - 322,909 (3rd worst so far for 2018). Well at least they stayed above 500K/300K 18-49 by a pretty wide margin. And of course, DBS was the highest-rated program on Adult Swim on Saturday night, and it's always nice to see that! And thanks for that, Brian. We now see more clearly that DBS was tied for 4th; DBZKFC was 9th; Black Clover was 12th; JoJo was tied for 14th; and Gundam was 16th.
  10. I think it's more Adult Swim/Turner's fault than it is Toonami's. Though to be fair there HAVE been exceptions to this rule, but it takes a sledgehammer of a show to do that. I do believe Samurai Jack got SCANT ad time on TBS and TNT. And, maybe Space Dandy did too. But Dragon Ball Super or any of the lesser shows which don't even get topicals? Nope. HOWEVER, there is a new animated show coming to TBS, not [as]. And it would be interesting to see some cross-promotion between that and Adult Swim shows, if not Toonami shows. But this all said, if it were up to me, I'd be giving Gundam topicals and playing them during sci-fi shows on TNT.
  11. Looks like Dragon ball super missed the Nielsen social top 5 again, but at least this time the nick shows were a factor, when they won't be in the future. here's hoping the buzz gets back up for toonami's flagship show next week. BUT I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVER SINCE NIELSEN SOCIAL ADDED INSTAGRAM, DBS HASN'T MADE THIS TOP 5: SOCIAL CONTENT RATINGS™ Daily Top Five Series and Specials February 10, 2018 RANK NETWORK / PROGRAM INTERACTIONS (000) F I T 1 Nickelodeon*, Nicktoons, TeenNick Henry Danger 37 0.0 36 0.3 2 FOX News Channel Justice With Judge Jeanine 32 4 2 25 3 Hallmark Channel Very, Very Valentine 32 0.4 11 20 4 Nickelodeon*, Nicktoons, TeenNick Game Shakers 25 0.1 25 0.1 5 BBC America Planet Earth: Blue Planet II 15 1 2 12

  13. It's Tuesday, Fat Tuesday in fact, so back to the ratings: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-2-10-2018.html Total Viewers Show People Retention DBS 990,000 N/A DBZKFC 809,000 81.72% BClover 647,000 79.98% JoJo 529,000 81.76% Gundam 487,000 92.06% Adults 18-34 Show Rating Estimate Retention DBS 0.56 381,000 N/A DBZKFC 0.44 299,000 78.57% BClover 0.35 238,000 79.55% JoJo 0.30 204,000 85.71% Gundam 0.28 190,000 93.33% Adults 18-49 Show Rating Estimate Retention DBS 0.47 603,000 N/A DBZKFC 0.38 487,000 80.85% BClover 0.30 385,000 78.95% JoJo 0.26 333,000 86.67% Gundam 0.24 308,000 92.31% Adults 18-49 Show Rank Change DBS #9 -7 DBZKFC #10 -5 BClover #14 +0 JoJo #24 -1 Gundam #34 -8 As expected, the Olympics pretty much kicked Toonami's butt, and this pattern should continue for a couple more weeks, as the NBC Sports Network, which pretty much only does middling normally, balloons in viewership during this biannual international competition. JoJo's midnight timeslot and Gundam IBO's 12:30 slot DID tie with the overnight show in 18-34, but that show lasted until 3 AM. The way things usually work, the first hour of the 3-hour Olympics overnight program probably edged out JoJo and Gundam since ratings decrease throughout the night. Meanwhile, Super just got edged out by the Primetime program and Kai and Clover got beat pretty handily by the Late Night program in [adult swim]'s classic target demo.
  14. Looks like it's Dragon Ball Super this week, and back in the 6th Universe Arc. I'll let y'all know what episodes exactly it is later. Edit: it appears it's actually 37-41, or the last 5 episodes of the arc. An interesting selection for the stream, but it DOES get whole "Hit" saga!
  15. Live Action has no place on Toonami unless it's for a gag (like I'm thinking they MIGHT do with Dragonball Evolution for April Fool's Day) or it's a micro-series like Sand Whale & Me. Horror huh? So you want Tokyo Ghoul back? Duly noted.
  16. Apparently he missed JoJo, Gundam, and Hunter x Hunter. Those were episodes with STRONG adult themes and you're a moron if you don't think so!
  17. "Squeeze you so hard" certainly has quite a few interesting connotations...
  18. It is quite neat that this show can be educational, a rare trait to find among Toonami shows. I can only wait to see how much we'll all learn about Egypt from Professor Joseph Joestar and his colleagues starting Saturday at Midnight! Just as long as he NEVER teaches flight school--OH THE HUMANITY!
  19. "I'm slightly curious about this stone that the villains seek, but I'm more struck by the inherent injustice of the society that people who have little magic power are almost banished to this Forsaken Zone of the country, wherein they are prime targets for predatory criminals, both in that the citizens are mostly incapable of defending themselves (which says to me that this world needs firearms as an equalizer, but the society is far from that technological development, since they have and rely on magic so much. It's like, if memory serves, how the development of the societies in the world of FMA were dependent upon alchemy and alkahestry. They had firearms and munitions, but it took a lot of firepower to confront powerful alchemists. These people don't even have bolt-action rifles, much less the automatic weapons and explosives they'd need to truly defend themselves from ruthless magicians) and that they are far from the help of authorities like Magic Knights, even though they're the ones who would be most likely to truly need such assistance." Now that's interesting. I need to go back and rewatch the last 4 episodes or so to be sure, but it seems that the Black Bulls might actually turn out to be the most truly heroic of all the Magic Knight squads, especially if they choose to defend weak-magic commoners in the Forsaken Zone, while the other 8 squads will only defend nobles and whatnot. So, worst or best turns out to be a matter of perception!
  20. I'd say you're grasping at straws, or perhaps at BooBies point card holograms?? [just like Meow is doing]
  21. I guess technically it's not, if you like Rick & Morty!
  22. I suppose so, even if the only "new" work she's done in tonight's shows was in Gundam IBO.
  23. Oh yeah, that is Wendee Lee! I'm also hearing her as Amida right now with the West Coast feed!
  24. So many themes from other episodes in this one! Episode 1 and 4, to name a couple!
