  1. That IS bizarre! Did some dense moron think the "C" stood for Christian, like in YMCA?? "Gonna watch me some F-L-C-L; Gonna watch me some F-L-C-L..." Bit harder to do the arm motions, but it works...
  2. That's all it is. You can still make out the shows and their titles, though. And yes, this WOULD INDEED be the first time a Toonami show airs at 4:30 AM since 1/31/15! Even the Parasyte "rights almost up" blowout and Children Who Chase Lost Voices in 2016 only expanded it to 4:30, and of course in 2017 it only made it to 4 AM.
  3. I wouldn't read too much into that. Space Dandy wasn't streaming either for awhile, until it came back this year. So I'm not really sure that means Toonami lost the rights. But tomorrow would be its 2-year anniversary of airing on Toonami, which means, yeah, it's probably gone. Also, Outlaw Star is streaming Episodes 11-15 right now. No word on if the "revamped" weekday stream will advance on Wednesday night to 16-20, but since 20 is coming up on this weekend's block, and Black Clover Page 5 streamed first on weekdays, it's certainly possible!
  4. This confirms that Toonami will remain its current length on the night that [as] loses an hour to DST, similarly to every year since 2015. However, this will be the longest lineup to be unaffected by DST: http://www.adultswim.com/adultswimdynsched/asXml/10.EST.xml Toonami still starts at 10:30 PM with DB Super, and airs as normal until 2 AM, when the clock skips forward to 3 AM. That night Outlaw Star will technically conclude at 3 AM, while Dandy follows at 3:30, then Bebop at 4, and GITS at 4:30 to conclude Toonami, followed by an hour of King of the Hill at 5 AM before CN takes over.
  5. I hadn't considered that it might be FLCL S1. That will probably get a rerun but I just can't see it starting March 24th for a Summer debut. Of course, that could also simply get a mini-marathon from 1-4 AM one week, effectively pre-empting everything from Hunter x Hunter onward. I really don't want Darling in the FRANXX airing that late, but I suppose 1 AM or 1:30 (moving down Hunter x Hunter and/or Shippuden) would be good for it. It also would be a new mecha show to carry on that niche after Gundam IBO, which will only have 4 episodes left at that point, ends.
  6. http://www.adultswim.com/adultswimdynsched/asXml/17.EST.xml Since Toonami has apparently decided to ignore my suggestions to air a Black Clover marathon on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, Outlaw Star will end on that date, which theoretically opens up a timeslot for a NEW SHOW on my 37th Birthday, March 24th! Well, technically this show will air on March 25th, after midnight, but I digress. The point is: what's that show gonna be? If Toonami is looking to replace a space opera with a space opera, Star Blazers 2199 would be a good fit, and for that 2 AM timeslot, quite appropriate as well. But that notwithstanding, the possibilities are nearly endless, as long as the recipient of that timeslot is an older show that would work as a good "anchor show" for the earlier timeslots. Psycho-Pass would be an interesting option, as would something like Future Diary. Then again, we could be talking Trigun, but I'm picking that to replace Cowboy Bebop a couple of weeks later. Since Gundam is coming to an end soon, I guess it could also be a classic mecha series like Full Metal Panic or Aquarion, but for both of those, we ARE talking long-term commitment. So what do you think it's gonna be?
  7. I thought the character design was very reminiscent of P & F, but somehow seemed a little too dark for the series. I'll admit I haven't watched very much of it, though. I usually changed the channel when it came on after Shippuden or one of the better Marvel series on Disney XD. Then again, The Little Mermaid's Vanessa is quite dark for her franchise, too! This Vanessa seems quite lighthearted and fits right in though!
  8. Oh right. What show is she from? Also, this episode gets a B: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-11/.125185
  9. Oh yeah, I totally forgot about sea witch Ursula's pretty alter-ego trying to foil Ariel and beat her to marrying an enchanted Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid! So I guess this makes Vanessa Enoteca only the 2nd "Vanessa" I've encountered in animation?
  10. She reminded me of Blair from Soul Eater in this episode--except that she can't transform into a cat!
  11. Rot in Hell, Jasley! I didn't get to see this one on TV due to a power outage, though I DID see it on my smartphone, and I don't remember how Jasley died, but I guess I was too freaked out by the power being out to pay attention. Gonna have to rewatch this one; at least VOD is an option. Also, the ANN review gave this episode an "A": https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/mobile-suit-gundam-iron-blooded-orphans/episode-42/.111882
  12. And on that note, I'm going to bed. LATER!
  13. Episode #192: Neji Chronicles Don't look so glum, Neji! Only 3 episodes left until we're back in canon, so take heart! 1:30 AM Tonight (2/24/18)--Only Toonami!
  14. I'm probably always gonna regret not snagging this one, even if just a little. After all, I would have done the subject more like this: "OUTLAW STAR HOT SPRINGS EPISODE (#23) TOONAMI PREMIERE DISCUSSION!!!!!!!!" (Yes, the 8 "!"'s would have been a reference to Keijo!!!!!!!!) Also, why this episode didn't get a topical is beyond me.
  15. I don't consider Black Dog Serenade to be a stand-alone so much as a companion to Waltz For Venus--or is it Ganymede Elegy? Whatever Episode #10 is... And it isn't just you. Tongpu's backstory background music TOTALLY seems inspired by Pink Floyd's "On The Run"!
  16. Episode #42: Settlement Last time you remember, Jasley of Teiwaz, Tekkadan's former parent company, pulled pretty much the biggest dick move I've ever seen in a Gundam show, and sent Mikazuki and Akihiro's rage through the roof! Will he survive through the end of the episode? I sure hope not, but let's find out together tomorrow night (2/24/18)! Only Toonami--and only 9 episodes left!
  17. Page 11: What Happened On A Certain Day In The Castle Town Asta's adventures with the Black Bulls continue, and he screams his head off some more! 11:30 PM Tomorrow Night (2/24/18). ONLY TOONAMI!!
  18. Yeah, this is never an exact science. But still, 500K watching means 500K watching, whether it happened in 2015 or 2018. However, in terms of value to the network, 500K watching in 2018 is about as valuable as 1M watching in 2015 just because ratings have gone down across the board.
  19. Yes, I'm afraid that's right. The 11:30-4 AM portion of the lineup usually beats the corresponding portion of the AOT rerun/Hellsing Ultimate X/FMA:Milos "unholy megabomb" from 12/13/14, but it didn't this week, nor did it on 1/27/18.
  20. I'm anxious to see what this may mean. Please don't do anything with the current weekend structure of streaming the Toonami broadcast from 4 weeks ago! I guess I can go ahead and update the original post...
  21. This "Reboot" should have just gone into sleep mode instead. (See what I did there??) Netflix may be a giant, but how long can they keep producing straight-up crap like this and the Death Note movie before they start to implode??

  23. This just in: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-2-17-2018.html "Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.46/0.33 compared to last week’s 0.47/0.38, BLACK CLOVER down 0.02 to 0.28, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES down 0.02 to 0.24, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM down 0.03 to 0.21/447K, HUNTER X HUNTER down 0.02 to 0.20/440K, NARUTO down 0.01 to 0.20/457K, OUTLAW STAR down 0.01 to 0.16/351K, SPACE DANDY down 0.05 to 0.12/305K, COWBOY BEBOP down 0.06 to 0.12/304K, and GHOST IN THE SHELL down 0.04 to 0.12/293K." Wow. Don't think we've EVER seen 0.12 before, and certainly not for all of the last 3 shows!
  24. Which is why I posed the question. At this point, the post-apocalyptic Buu saga is just dragging on with nonsense and begging to be put out of its misery. Not that it isn't still entertaining; it's just that DBZ Kai is a pale shadow of what it used to be. Now don't get me wrong; I wouldn't mind DBZ Kai to get a rerun late in the night, but it has no business running again at 11 once The Final Chapters runs out, and I really hope we get some NEW BLOOD on Toonami that isn't Black Clover.
