  1. I don't see how it could be, but it IS annoying as hell that only 17 days out the March 24 schedule remains shrouded in mystery!
  2. Sad to see this go. http://www.toonamifaithful.com/news-toonami-asia-is-shutting-down-at-the-end-of-march/ RIP Toonami Asia 2012-2018.
  3. Dandy doesn't have the "staying power" Bebop does either. NOTHING does--except maybe Samurai Champloo and DBZ Kai.
  4. Dandy has the same problem literally EVERYTHING aired at 2:30 AM has--NO benefit of delayed viewing in Live+SD. Also, these episodes have already been run quite a few times, even if 3 years and change ago. This is their 4th airing each (plus numerous online streams), as many as 5th each when we get to Episodes 12 and 13. However, beyond that it will only be their 2nd airing each so hopefully that gives the numbers a bit of a boost.
  5. Yeah, but in that argument, he uses an anime phenomenon from 2018 (Devilman Crybaby) to describe why a show from 2014 wasn't more successful. IIRC, the 2014 anime streaming scene was dominated by Neon Alley around the time that Space Dandy came out, and then Hulu continued with that trend. Netflix wasn't the ubiquitous monster it is today, so Toonami was actually MORE relevant in 2014 than it is today. I daresay its relevance was GROWING at the time then peaked (on adult swim) in 2015 before beginning to ebb in 2016, a trend which continues today. Attack on Titan may have streamed on all major platforms with subtitles, but the fact that its long-awaited (like for a year) dub premiere was on Toonami was huge and cemented its relevance in that age. The thing that hurt the 2nd cour of Space Dandy the most was not Toonami's growing irrelevance, but the fact that AOT was king and Bleach directly followed it, that it was, after all, STILL a World Premiere and got stuck behind lame-duck Bleach's worst canon arc was a miscalculation!
  6. For those who don't know what he's talking about, about Toonami having the #4 show in prime time, here's the Top 5: http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-north-carolina-duke-espn-bests-boston-houston-abc-nba-saturday-primetime-head-head/ College Basketball Regular Season North Carolina at Duke (ESPN, 8:17 PM, 127 min.)– 3.369 million viewers (#1)– 1.97 HH (#1)– 1.08 A18-49 (#1)– 0.99 A18-34 (#1) College Gameday-Basketball (ESPN, 8:07 PM, 10 min.)– 2.246 million viewers (#2)– 1.35 HH (#2)– 0.71 A18-49 (#2)– 0.65 A18-34 (#2) Family Guy (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) – 1.175 million viewers (#19) – 0.76 HH (#18) – 0.51 A18-49 (#7) – 0.64 A18-34 (#3) Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) – 1.155 million viewers (#20) – 0.74 HH (#20) – 0.50 A18-49 (#8) – 0.62 A18-34 (#4) Rick & Morty (ADSM, 9:30 PM, 30 min.)– 1.120 million viewers (#23)– 0.72 HH (#23)– 0.49 A18-49 (#10)– 0.60 A18-34 (#5)
  7. I don't really think the M 18-49 is all that important. It's the 18-34 and M 12-34 that Toonami always seems to excel in! But maybe I'm wrong. Also: http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-north-carolina-duke-espn-bests-boston-houston-abc-nba-saturday-primetime-head-head/ Family Guy (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.)– 1.175 million viewers (#19)– 0.76 HH (#18)– 0.51 A18-49 (#7)– 0.64 A18-34 (#3) PROGRAM Viewers (000) A1849 rating A1849 (000) 10:30 Dragon Ball Super 1155 0.50 642 11:00 Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters 1030 0.46 593 11:30 Black Clover 708 0.32 417 12:00a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 596 0.28 363 12:30a Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 558 0.27 343 1:00a Hunter X Hunter (r) 507 0.24 315 1:30a Naruto: Shippuden (r) 479 0.22 288 2:00a Outlaw Star (r) 411 0.20 254 2:30a Space Dandy (r) 351 0.16 209 3:00a Cowboy Bebop (r) 367 0.19 243 3:30a Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig (r) 337 0.17 223 18-49 average: 354K. 8. This episode just may have been the PERFECT episode of Gundam IBO: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/mobile-suit-gundam-iron-blooded-orphans/episode-43/.112155 TL,DR: Rating: A+!!
  9. Speaking of reviews, here's one for this here episode: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-12/.125510 What!? You mean to tell me that stuff with Yuno and the Golden Dawn was FILLER!? Who knew!? TL,DR: Rating: B- So I guess that explains why the episode only retained 69% of DBZ Kai's viewers. Hopefully this weekend's Page 13 will be a bit more "lucky!"
  10. UPDATE: Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.50/0.46 compared to last week’s 0.51/0.44, BLACK CLOVER down 0.02 to 0.32, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES up 0.01 to 0.28, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM up 0.01 to 0.27/558K, HUNTER X HUNTER down 0.03 to 0.24/507K, NARUTO down 0.05 to 0.22/479K, OUTLAW STAR down 0.01 to 0.20/411K, SPACE DANDY down 0.02 to 0.16/351K, COWBOY BEBOP steady at 0.19/367K, and GHOST IN THE SHELL down 0.01 to 0.17/337K. Average 591K, which is the highest yet in 2018! It should also be noted that the Cable Originals, the first 5 premieres, crossed 800K (809,400) on average for the first time this year as well! Hopefully Toonami just continues to improve from here; it looks like we're on an upward trajectory. Perhaps the fact that viewers are no longer able to catch what they missed 4 weeks later on the free stream made the difference?

  13. That is really strange, since Gundam IBO was on there over the weekend through Monday night. Maybe now they're running 2 shows each week, one Friday night through Monday, and one Monday night through Friday?
  14. Gundam IBO is a damn good show. So is Gundam Unicorn, even if it's hard to follow, but I digress. Mochi likes when anime and other shows on Toonami depict gay characters in a positive light; that's pretty much all there is to it!
  15. Believe it or not, NOT THIS TIME!!
  16. I had forgotten the Hot Springs ep was right before everything got serious! Although even that lighthearted, fanservicey ep contained a scene which was quite important to the plot!
  17. "Why have I returned? I don't know...I guess I just kinda ended up here??"
  18. This is really weird! This is--THE GALACTIC LEYLINE! And shut up!
  19. That show open bump was cool! We're getting down to the wire in this show!
  20. The first half of this episode (I'm watching the west coast feed) was mostly worldbuilding, but these new bumps rock!!!
