Hunter X Hunter St. Patty's day (Ep 88) discussion!

Too bad his first name wasn't "Icy..." -
This episode is the only thing I actually watched at the St. Patrick's Day party tonight--and I used my DATA to do it! Shows you how much I adore this show. Anyway, I thought this episode was at least worth an "A", but apparently our trusty ANN reviewer thought different: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/mobile-suit-gundam-iron-blooded-orphans/episode-45/.112723 TL,DR: Rating "B+"

Yeah, so many feels tonight! -
Wow, the ending theme sounds kinda like an Irish jig! How appropriate for St. Patrick's day! Anyway, I just watched it; I like the OP and ED, and then THAT MEETING between Yuno and Asta! OH MAN!! I can't wait to see where this goes! And as for the review for this episode on ANN: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-14/.126230 TL,DR: Rating "C+." Well, to be fair, the episode DID drag.

Wow, bumping this thread because it seems I was wrong. It turns out these are NOT the same episodes of DBZ KFC that aired all week; they're actually the NEXT set of episodes, and yes, it does appear that there are SIX of them in each rotation instead of 5 like there used to be! I'm actually OK with this change. I felt like 5 worked for shows like Samurai Jack and not much else. MAAYBE Gundam IBO, since each season had 25 episodes. But since the new flagship show is FLCL, and it has 6 episodes in each season. Plus for a lot of shows, such as Tokyo Ghoul and JoJo Part 3, 6+6=12, and that's once again a FULL COUR!! Having an extra episode of the featured show play and bringing back the advance with a new Pre-Flight on Friday Night isn't a bad trade-off for the demise of the weekend block stream of the block from 4 years ago. So to sum up, right now we've got the DBZ Kai Final Chapters episodes from: 1/20/18: #146 "Gotenks' Ace in the Hole! Transformation! Super Saiyan 3!" 1/27/18: #147 "On A Roll! Buu-Buu-Volleyball!" 2/3/18: #148 "Thanks for Waiting, Everyone! A Reborn Gohan Heads for Earth!" 2/10/18: #149 "Buu Overwhelmed! Ultimate Gohan's Super Power!" 2/17/18: #150 "Buu's Sinister Scheme: Gotenks Is Absorbed" 2/24/18: #151 "The Elder Kai's Brainstorm! Return to Life, Goku" -

It would appear that they're expanding the number of episodes that are run on weekdays from 5 to 6, as I believe 6 episodes of DBZ Kai played this week: 11/18/17 12/2/17 "What Anger Gives Rise To Another Majin!" 12/9/17 "Buu Gobbles Up Buu! Onslaught Of A New Majin!" 12/16/17 "Headlong Rush Into Catastrophe! A One-Hour Time Limit!" 1/6/18 "Training Complete! You're Finished Now, Majin Buu!" 1/13/18 "Elminating Buu With Ghosts: A Knockout Kamikaze Attack!" Did anyone else notice that's what they did? It would seem to make perfect sense to me if so, with FLCL 2 and FLCL 3 coming up, each 6 episodes. EDIT: Well, I wasn't expecting this! Looks like the DBZ Kai stream is gonna continue through the weekend. I guess I'll be able to determine if it's 5 episodes or 6 at some point after all! -
Ugh, I have no reason whatsoever to believe that Double Bebop will be a thing more often than just this once. The idea is to have TWO slots open on 3/31 or 4/7, but for what, I haven't a much of a clue.

FLCL 2 and 3 Titles Revealed And New Image

Is this new? -
Yeah, I'm thinking after this, Bebop's taking a good long break. Toonami may even be losing the rights to it, which apparently DID happen for almost 8 months in 2014. Don't really know for sure though! But it IS apparent that they have lost the rights now to both Dimension W and Samurai Champloo, the latter of which I thought might be a potential replacement for GITS. So much for that though! I think it's probably a foregone conclusion that DBZ Kai will end up rerunning somewhere in the back end--or is it?? There are back episodes of Season 1 of both JoJo and Gundam IBO available on the app, but that is NOT the case for DBZ Kai! I wonder if Gundam IBO would possibly get a back-end rerun, especially if paired up with an older Gundam series? Doubtful though. It will be interesting to see what they do with the block after 2 AM going forward, though one potential direction might be just repeating it until 6 AM like they did in 2012. Perhaps Toonami will contract to 8 shows, begin at 10 PM, go to 2 AM, and then rerun from 2 AM to 6 AM? With the recent demise of the weekend block stream it seems it has potential. But then again, if they CAN get more "nostalgic" shows like Outlaw Star, which had a major portion of its run at 2:30 AM, maybe airing classic shows in HD from 2 AM-4 AM will remain their m.o. for a bit longer!
