  1. Well, THIS is interesting: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2017-05-07/gundam-iron-blooded-orphans-voice-actor-see-you-in-the-movie-version/.115794 Granted, there has been no movement on this for a whole year, but why would Mikazuki's Japanese VA hint that he'll be in the movie, unless Mikazuki isn't really dead, and was simply left for dead after Barbatos was beheaded by Julieta? Perhaps she really didn't feel like finishing the job, and he's really hiding somewhere... But it's a LOT more likely that we're talking compilation movie, and Mikazuki's Japanese VA has a few more scenes yet to be animated. Just for the record, the movie I REALLY wanna see in the IBO sub-franchise is the Calamity War. If we DO have a Season 3, it needs to be a full-on re-enactment of the Calamity War. Perhaps Akatsuki could grow up to pilot Bael?
  2. Sober Owlchemist posts in the wrong thread quite often. Then again, Sober Owlchemist rarely exists on Saturdays anyway. Slightly Tipsy Owlchemist is a LOT more common!
  3. It's Attack on Titan this week--but it's not season 2; it's all the way back to the beginning for Season 1! Kinda strange, but since they aired the first episode 4 years ago this week, they may be losing the rights. Even if so, doubt we'll see more than the first 5 episodes, or 10 episodes tops if we get a Friday night advance this week.
  4. There was no advance on Friday night for Space Dandy, which is really weird because there's probably no restriction on showing later episodes in the series. They probably were just lazy. We'll see if the stream changes tonight!
  5. I wouldn't go that far. He did blame it on the alcohol, and to be fair I've posted some really stupid things drunk before. But then again, I also post stupid things sober, so...
  6. Fair enough. Boy, this episode was on so early that I just now caught it on my DVR, finally seeing beyond the promo for the first time. At the time I was playing I was eating dinner at a Wendy's and there WAS a TV but the correspondents' dinner disaster with Michelle Wolf was on and I didn't necessarily had the pull to change the TV. Plus my smartphone was dead. But I digress. Zamasu is a monster, plain and simple. Of course, he and Cell, who the first time shifts were made to stop, would have gotten along. And yeah, that looks like some kind of new form that Future Trunks is able to achieve. Maybe it's like Super Saiyan 2, but with a small bit of divine energy compared to Goku's blue form that is overflowing with it? Whatever Rosé is, at least it made it easier to tell the difference between "good" Goku and "bad" Goku than just the earring on Goku Black Rosé!
  7. You did that wrong. It's 50-fuckin'-1! Gundam IBO only ran for 50! But we can take solace in that 57 episodes of IBO actually aired on Toonami, if you count the Dort Arc marathon on Halloween weekend 2016. Add 22 episodes of Unicorn to that and that adds up to 79 episodes of Gundam on [as] Toonami. The number 79 also happens to be the atomic number for gold. Hence, Gundam is gold! But, I digress. I'm thinking a show that gets mid-blocked doesn't have much of a hope of getting a marathon anymore, unless it's Bebop. So chances are Black Clover will only run 51 episodes on Toonami, unless, heaven forbid, it gets a continuation. And if there is one, it better be a lot less hackneyed than this series! But that's the problem with Pierrot. They hit it out of the park with Bebop, Bleach, and the Naruto franchise, but everything else they animate is middling at best.
  8. As Jotaro, who's been shoved down to 12:30 now, would say "Oh, Good Grief!" Last night's "behind the scenes" interviews vignette that aired during FLCL and Shippuden was really the first on-air confirmation we've had that FLCL Progressive WILL indeed air at Midnight. Lots of us were thinking there was no WAY FLCL Progressive, a show Williams Street themselves produced, would be at Midnight as the 4th show on the lineup, but it seems that's what they intend to do, and it speaks volumes about how popular they're assuming MHA is gonna be that they're using THAT as a lead-in. The question is, with DBZ KFC the new "lame duck" show, what replaces it at 11? There's probably a very small number of series that could air between the juggernauts that are Super and MHA and still hold a candle to them, but maybe that's not the point. Something lesser-known WOULD get a pretty good rub on both sides from those heavyweights! I'd say "AOTS3," but that won't be ready yet until AT LEAST 7/21. I guess moving Super back down to 11 is a possibility, but then you would apparently have to have a prime-time premiere outside of Toonami again--Yuck! It's also possible that MHA moves up to 11 after Episode 7 and an Independence Day "weekend" marathon on June 30, and something new moves into the 11:30 timeslot on 7/7 to lead-in to FLCL 2 episode 5. What they plan on doing with AOTS3 if they get it is then the next mystery. To replace FLCL Progressive at Midnight on 7/21 IF Toonami gets to air the dub before Japan even gets to air a subtitled edition would work, but I'd say more likely we just get a repeat of Progressive on 7/21-8/25 leading-in to Alternative on 9/9, and JoJo instead gets replaced once again by AOT in mid-August.
  9. Yeah, that's right. But it's different from Toonami's other recent tragedy, AgK, because lots of secondary characters lived on in the better world their sacrifice gained. That didn't happen in AgK, as Akame was pretty much a wandering samurai who moved on to a new town. Couldn't agree with this review more. It wasn't a "happy" ending, like JoJo Part 2, but it was a sublime ending, like Samurai Jack. Definitely the best ending of 2018 so far, but then again the bar is set ridiculously low because it's the ONLY ending so far in 2018, other than Lupin the 3rd Part 4 and Outlaw Star's non-endings. But DEFINITELY better than that! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/mobile-suit-gundam-iron-blooded-orphans/episode-50/.114328 Rating: (What else?) A+!! LATER!!
  10. Not everyone. Lots of characters, even one I thought passed away in Season 1, Gaelio, lived.
  11. Too bad they couldn't address that somehow...
  12. Yeah, of course I know that. But I was wondering if he also banged Kudelia a bit later on. If so, guess they used protection or she wasn't impregnated.
  13. Well, guess Kudelia didn't have Mika's baby after all! Thanks for the memories, Gundam IBO!! It was a HELL of a ride! ON to Black Clover!!
  14. I thought we were in Denouement mode, then someone gets shot in the shitter!
  15. Gaelio and Julieta I never would have shipped, but hey, why not!? And Eugene lived--cool!!
  16. Wow, what a great battle! That was SUCH a treat to watch!!
  17. I got me a Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen...LET'S DO THIS!!!
  18. Episode 34: D'Arby The Gambler, Part 1 Our heroes are closing in on Dio's mansion... Let's get Bizarre one last time at Midnight, at least for now, before FLCL takes over, and JoJo is on half an hour later! ONLY TOONAMI!
  19. Now that we're out of the Dungeon, what does the future hold for Asta and the Black Bulls? Find out tomorrow at 1, ONLY TOONAMI!
  20. http://toonami.tumblr.com/image/173392062088 The final episode...
  21. No, that actually WOULDN'T lock Toonami out of a same-day simuldub. Think about it: Japan is 14 hours ahead of Toonami. It could STILL be a Space Dandy-style premiere BEFORE Japan on July 21. For Toonami to get great ratings out of AOT S3, it almost has to be. And if FLCL is still on track to premiere at 11:30 (moving Academia to 11 and DBZKFC to Midnight) on 6/2, then with one week off for Independence Day holiday for a marathon, it would end 7/14 and open the timeslot for AOT S3 on 7/21. But I think it might actually be more likely to replace JoJo at 12:30 and a as a non-simuldub. Much less risk there. Even so, if you know anything about Japanese TV schedules, July 22nd is kind of an odd time for a show to start, though if it has 24 episodes, it still would get done by the end of 2018 if it ran uninterrupted. Even so, it almost feels like the schedule is guided by some foreign force who would rather keep quiet about it...
  22. I just noticed something: My Hero Academia is the first premiere from Studio Bones that will air on Toonami in almost 4 years. The last one was Space Dandy in September 2014!
  23. Unreal. I think Gundam Unicorn may have suffered from the same thing--only difference is GU was a DAMN treat to look at and the music was great too! Tokyo ghoul? Nothing to write home about! Hopefully Gundam Narrative (the sequel to Gundam Unicorn) is a little easier to follow. Gundam IBO had its moments but it was a lot easier to follow. And right now, it feels like a damn Shakespearian tragedy!
