stream 2018 Weekly Streaming Archives
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Well, the Pop Team Epic stream didn't advance, but now we've got Attack on Titan Season 2! Looks like it's #31-#35 for now, but it's unknown if it will get a Friday night advance or not. Also, HOW it will advance is a mystery, which could reveal some interesting facts about AOT's streaming arrangements for Season 3. More likely than not, IF it gets a Friday night advance, it's moving to #33-#37, but I suppose it COULD straddle the seasons and advance to #36-#40, which would be 2 episodes of Season 2, and 3 episodes of Season 3. The only thing I've ever seen doing anything similar is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and only between the last 4 episodes of Part 1 and the first of Part 2, but technically those are the same season. -

Dear Lord, why did I just waste 6 minutes of my life watching that!? At least it was pretty damn funny though! -
HELLSING-WEEN 2018 (A Retrospective)
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Well, we could also explore it from this angle: back in '14, shows like Gurren Lagann and Hellsing Ultimate gave Toonami a sense of variety many feel might be lacking now. We've had plenty of mecha since (one could argue FLCL Alternative is that sub-genre's current representative), but we haven't had a good vampire show SINCE Hellsing, so it seems like a new vampire show on Toonami would actually be a good thing, but what's good enough in that sub-genre for the Better Cartoon Show? Yes, I'm aware that JoJo DID have vampires, but except for a brief comeback at the end of Part 3, they're mostly gone for now. -
Toonami Expands to 9PM on 9/29
OwlChemist81 replied to QueenoftheDorks's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
It looks like they're actually starting Samurai Jack with episode 10. You might think "well, THAT'S weird", but they DID air 1-9 at 8:30 PM on Saturday nights in 2017 just before Season 5 premiered! Guess they're just continuing with that, bizarre as it may be... -

I couldn't think of anything worse than wiping my butt with sandpaper, but this just might be. On the subject of Gordon, I have the captions on, and they actually captured what he said in the early episodes, and it was pretty funny! Did they stop doing it now?? Edit: I looked, and they did still caption Gordon. Hella useful. As for the episode, well, Yami was hilarious by dogging everyone. AND WE HAVE A MOLE!! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episode-38/.133545 Rating: "C+". I guess the "+" was for all the goofy comedy! -
Hey, not too shabby! Dragon Ball Super back over 700K, and AOT almost 600K: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-9-15-2018.html Big fall for Pop Team Epic, though, but at least both it and JoJo still made the Top 50. And then with the update, we see once again why Black Clover is moving up 30 minutes: "The Adult Swim line-up performed as follows: MY HERO ACADEMIA up 0.04 to 0.28/643K, DRAGON BALL up 0.07 to 0.35, ATTACK ON TITAN up 0.08 to 0.28, FLCL up 0.06 to 0.23, POP TEAM EPIC steady at 0.16, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURES steady at 0.16, HUNTER X HUNTER steady at 0.16/335K, BLACK CLOVER up 0.01 to 0.17/354K, NARUTO up 0.01 to 0.17/319K, ONE-PUNCH MAN up 0.04 to 0.18/317K, LUPIN THE 3RD steady at 0.14//256K, and COWBOY BEBOP down 0.01 to 0.13/248K." 9/15/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention MHA 643,000 #DIV/0! Last but not least, because I say this post isn't ridiculously long enough, Friday's ratings for Dragon Ball Super Power Hour and a look back on the first week of that Power Hour as a whole! https://programminginsider.com/friday-final-ratings-rachel-maddow-show-on-msnbc-tops-all-prime-time-broadcast-and-cable-telecasts-in-total-viewers/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.424 million viewers (#78) • 0.28 HH (#69) • 0.13 A18-49 (#71) • 0.15 A18-34 (#27) • 0.14 A25-54 (#80) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.426 million viewers (#77) • 0.27 HH (#73) • 0.15 A18-49 (#60) • 0.18 A18-34 (#17) • 0.14 A25-54 (#80) I'm not posting all the numbers, but just get a load of how far Mike Tyson Mysteries fell afterward--286K! Methinks THAT was a bad programming move! Venture 3-peats would probably do better there! HELLSING-WEEN 2018 (A Retrospective)
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
At least the facts were actually related to Toonami and a reflection on Hellsing's position in the lineup 4 years ago as opposed to today, when in terms of actual timeslot, it was in the same spot Lupin and Bebop are now, but in terms of timeslot RELATIVE to the beginning of Toonami, it's where JoJo and Black Clover are now. It was kind of a "how far we've come" thing, but at least it was RELATED to Toonami, ya dig? -

Ok, personal preferences aside, I heard it referred to as another term: "tossin' salad". -

Uhhhh...how would one even EAT a guy out? I'm pretty sure owning a vagina is a requirement to be eaten out. As far as I'm concerned, licking butthole don't count, because--eww gross. -

Lupin the 3rd Part IV is truly an amazing series in terms of its treatment on Toonami. It started at 2, then moved up to 1:30 for its premiere run. Then it got an encore run at 3:30, and then 3, and soon it will be 2:30! It will only take one more move up for it to be back at its original timeslot! Oh well; on to Bebop, or if you prefer, JoJo DIU.

We'll see this at some point...
