  1. I agree, but unfortunately it won't be getting an earlier timeslot anytime soon, UNLESS either something moves down or gen:LOCK pulls Toonami into prime time!
  2. FINALLY, we have pre-Toonami shows, and can find out whether or not DBS improved on its Family Guy lead-in: Dragon Ball Z Kai (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.262 million viewers (#96) • 0.18 HH (#90) • 0.13 A18-49 (#49) • 0.15 A18-34 (#22) • 0.11 A25-54 (#91) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.240 million viewers (#98) • 0.17 HH (#94) • 0.13 A18-49 (#49) • 0.16 A18-34 (#15) • 0.11 A25-54 (#91) Rick & Morty (repeat) (ADSM, 9:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.419 million viewers (#72) • 0.26 HH (#70) • 0.21 A18-49 (#19) • 0.22 A18-34 (#8) • 0.19 A25-54 (#44) Rick & Morty (repeat) (ADSM, 9:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.491 million viewers (#60) • 0.30 HH (#58) • 0.23 A18-49 (#16) • 0.25 A18-34 (#6) • 0.21 A25-54 (#34) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.673 million viewers (#46) • 0.42 HH (#47) • 0.28 A18-49 (#7) • 0.26 A18-34 (#5) • 0.27 A25-54 (#20) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.747 million viewers (#34) • 0.46 HH (#40) • 0.33 A18-49 (#4) • 0.34 A18-34 (#2) • 0.32 A25-54 (#11) Read more: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-ae-leads-prime-time-among-all-key-adult-demos/ Since DBS on Toonami only pulled 621K, it seems the answer is no. Also, as it only got a 0.32 in 18-49, it also lost a bit from FG in that demographic, as we see here: 7/13/19 - Adults 18-49 Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 167,000 DBS (R) 167,000 100.00% TOONAMI DBS (P) 415,000 98.11% AOTS3P2 298,000 71.81% SAO3 255,000 85.57% LupinPt5 229,000 89.80% FoodWars! 233,000 101.75% B. Clover 245,000 105.15% Boruto 203,000 82.86% Shippuden 192,000 94.58% Gundam 175,000 91.15% MHA 175,000 100.00% AVERAGE 242,000 12/28 😎 [italics indicates estimation] Unfortunately, DBS couldn't beat Family Guy in any known demographic. But on the bright side, finally, an above-average night (for 2019) for Toonami!!! And the answer of whether or not Gundam beat MHA in 18-49 viewers has been solved--it TIED it to the nearest 1000 people! Hopefully Toonami shrugs off being hamstrung by a rerun of AOTS3 Part 2 and continues to improve!
  3. Yeah, my theory is that if I'm right about gen:LOCK being an expansion show (or rather, NEEDING to be since the first episode is over 30 minutes long), Gundam: The Origin will move up to 1 AM in Week 5. But if they somehow edited gen:LOCK down to 22 minutes, which if you ask me, would be disheartening, then it could take a normal 30-minute slot and directly replace AOT. I wonder what will happen with that 3:30 timeslot when MHA ends if it plays out the rest of its time there? AOT S3P2 reruns, I guess?
  4. Is this Gundam show a fail? I'll bet it would have done better than Food Wars had it been premiered at 1 AM instead! The recent talk of it moving to 1 has been baffling, but I'm sure they saw something in it that caused them to at least consider it? Anyway, PI STILL hasn't released their report, so we don't know if Gundam or MHA had the lowest 18-49 ratings for the night, but we DO know this: 7/13/19 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 262,000 DBS (R) 240,000 91.60% DBS (P) 621,000 #DIV/0! AOTS3P2 448,000 72.14% SAO3 399,000 89.06% LupinPt5 334,000 83.71% FoodWars! 344,000 102.99% B. Clover 354,000 102.91% Boruto 312,000 88.14% Shippuden 286,000 91.67% Gundam 257,000 89.86% MHA 323,000 125.68% AVERAGE 367,800 19th of 28 😅 Also, 450K for Food Wars? After a rerun episode of AOT!? C'mon, man! Won't crack 400K...
  5. That doesn't make any sense. Rather then pulling a FUNimation show out of the abyss, they...double up on...a newer FUNimation show, and a simuldub at that!? Also, the name of this thread needs to change. Toonami is NOT shrinking! Sure, this week it will only contain 9 shows, but one of them will be doubled-up!
  6. The answer to the question is: "Attack On Titan episode #58." Right after a special encore presentation of Attack on Titan #57. And they might even replay the missing after-credits segment from #56 to kick it all off, so we could have 2.1 episodes of Attack on Titan on Saturday night! I'm OK with this. While I was hoping Gundam and/or MHA might slide up, if the new 11:30 (or is it Midnight?) show hopefully coming 7/27 is worth it, then I guess this is endurable for ONE week. And the ratings will probably beat the 4th of July Weekend disaster from 2 weeks ago at least!
  7. I don't understand that at all. One of the 3 AM hour shows should have moved up instead of playing Episode #57 of AOT again, but then again, they'd just have to move something else down to 3:30 in its place next week. Granted, it DID do well in the ratings, but I doubt it will do as good as a rerun. They better be pulling out one hell of a show to have pulled THIS stunt!
  8. "DRAGON BALL at 0.32 and 0.13/262K & 0.13/240K, compared to last week’s 0.25 and 0.07/172K & 0.06/156K, ATTACK ON TITAN up 0.11 to 0.23, SWORD ART ONLINE up 0.07 to 0.20, LUPIN THE 3RD up 0.09 to 0.18, FOOD WARS up 0.09 to 0.18, BLACK CLOVER up 0.08 to 0.19/354K, BORUTO up 0.08 to 0.19/312K, NARUTO up 0.06 to 0.15/286K, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM up 0.05 to 0.14, MY HERO ACADEMIA up 0.05 to 0.14/323K, and GEMUSETTO MACHU PICCHU up 0.03 to 0.10/202K." Gundam once again lowest Toonami show in total viewers, but tied with MHA in Adults 18-49.
  9. Actually, NO! All shows improved MARKEDLY, and all eligible shows made the Top 50 (Top 40 at that!): You wanted growth? You got it; in total viewers: Show Improvement DBS 117.39% AOT 168.42% SAO 160.89% LupinIII 202.42% Fd Wars 221.94% Gundam 166.88% And we don't know hard numbers for 18-49 yet, but from what we DO know, Lupin III Part 5 and Food Wars! effectively DOUBLED their audience, while the other 4 known shows increased less, but still pretty markedly. Finally, Gundam's 0.11 in 18-34 (~75K, the occupancy of Legion Field) LOOKS pretty rough, but if you'll recall, on June 22nd the entire Midnight hour was that low, and Lupin may have been as well the following 2 weeks, but we don't know since it failed to make the Top 50. So 75K is DAMN good for 3 AM, and with Gundam moving up to 1 AM, it seems it will only improve from here!
  10. It's starting at the same time as it has since the beginning of July--11 PM. Dragon Ball Super has consistently been at 11 for almost a year now, and all the other shows have revolved around it like some kind of "fulcrum", which makes sense because it has the best ratings of any show on the block. With quite a few shows lasting only a cour or two, or being serial in nature, and some long-runners like DBZ Kai and Hunter x Hunter ending, they've really done the best they could to stay consistent.
  11. I believe this is most likely a temporary contraction, because we've got gen:LOCK coming in on August 3rd, and Attack on Titan will most likely rerun at 3:30 AM. I am fine with this. Sword Art Online: Alicization would have been too much of a pain in the ass to rerun, and unless they gave The Promised Neverland a 2nd spin, they don't really have anything to rerun or anything new to roll out. But with Toonami airing 9 shows from 11-3:30, SOMETHING Toonami is airing at Midnight. We just don't know exactly what yet...
  12. Yeah, it is totally looking like it right now. But if that means Gundam and MHA move up, I'm all for it! Plus, we might just get back that 3:30 AM hour once AOT's current half-season ends for its reruns!
  13. So was it still doing well in the ratings? Mythbusters was a similar case, but it didn't do well at ALL its last 3 seasons where it aired on prime time Saturdays instead of its old hit Wednesday night timeslot! Battlebots is doing extremely well these days on Fridays!
  14. I'm willing to bet Toonami did better this week. I don't know if Food Wars and Gundam: The Origin cracked 200K for the first time, but I'm willing to bet they improved! I trust Jose. He's responsible for getting Lupin on the block!
  15. It's a really nice touch if so! I'm even gonna try to get my mom into the more cutesy elements, especially stuff with Lucifer the kitty! Rumor has it this show is getting an upgrade to 1 AM next week!
  16. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-58/.135943 Grade: "B-". Yeah, not the same par as the main story, which thankfully we return to next week, with only 5 episodes left!
  17. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/boruto-naruto-next-generations/episode-39/.125817 Grade: "B+". Ok, so "Mitsuki" CAN mean "Full Moon". Guess that makes sense!
  18. Damn, I can't believe it's NEXT WEEK'S BLOCK and we STILL DON'T KNOW!!! I guess we'll find out Monday. That MIGHT be enough time for [as] to get the word out to on-screen guides about the new schedule so they're not completely fucked up!
  19. So is Alicization rerunning? There would definitely be enough time to squeeze a rerun in by next February...
  20. So Grisha turned into a feral titan, and ate that guy, and then Eren in turn ate his father? Seems plausible!
