  7. How about some more numbers, ya butt monkeys?? The other 3 shows came in: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-31-2019.html "Adult Swim’s line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.36 and 0.12/323K & 0.14/337K compared to 0.33 and 0.1/293K & 0.13/306K, GEN LOCK up 0.03 to 0.23, DR STONE up 0.03 to 0.21, FIRE FORCE up 0.03 to 0.20, FOOD WARS up 0.05 to 0.19, BLACK CLOVER up 0.02 to 0.17/315K, BORUTO up 0.04 to 0.17, NARUTO up 0.04 to 0.15/277K, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM up 0.03 to 0.17, LUPIN THE 3RD up 0.02 to 0.15, and MY HERO ACADEMIA down 0.01 to 0.14/275K." 8/31/2019 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 323,000 DBS (R) 337,000 104.33% TOONAMI DBS (P) 746,000 Gen:LOCK 463,000 62.06% Dr. Stone 419,000 90.50% FireForce 382,000 91.17% FoodWars! 349,000 91.36% B. If they all averaged over 3K greater, then it cracked the Top 10! Also, if you were curious about the Steven Universe movie... http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-monday-cable-originals-network-finals-9-2-2019.html 1572K in total viewers makes it the most successful thing CN has aired all year. I guess we'll never know if FOX reruns on [as] have topped that, but so far the highest-rated original in total viewers in 2019 is Dragon Ball Super on 3/23 at 895K. As for 18-49, that would be another DBS on 2/16 at 551K, a 0.43, and in 18-34 there were 2 weeks (2/16 and 5/11) where DBS pulled a 0.48 (~326K). Steven Universe: The Movie only did 0.04 better than all those other demographics respectively! In fact, believe it or not, last week's DBS actually tied with SUTM in 25-54!!
  8. So what have we learned this year? Marathons may NOT be necessary on Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day weekend after all, but no matter when the 4th of July is, not running a marathon on the closest weekend (unless it falls on a Wednesday; somehow that worked out alright last year) seems to be a mistake. And next year, the 4th of July ITSELF actually falls on a Saturday, so not running a marathon then would be incredibly stupid to the point of being asinine. But back to Memorial Day and Labor Day, normal lineups on those 2 days were successful. On Memorial Day, Toonami's average was the 2nd highest of the 6-week period in which MHA kicked it off at 10:30 PM and actually the HIGHEST over that time period in Adults 18-49. And as for this past Labor Day weekend, while we don't know how 3 shows did just yet, Toonami just shrugged off College Football, a mass shooting in Texas, and a freaking HURRICANE to land all SIX of its eligible shows before 3 AM in the Top 25 and even its 2 eligible shows AFTER 3 AM in the Top 50! Now THAT'S ratings success!!
  9. Nope!! Toonami actually kinda kicked ass last weekend!! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-8-31-2019.html That's new highs for the 11:30-12:30 hour in total viewers, and yes, Gundam: The Origin actually cracked 300K at 3 AM!! Even more impressive than that is the fact that it got better than a 0.2 in Adults 18-34, tying with Fire Force and beating Food Wars and Boruto!! Gundam: Making 3 AM Great Again!!! All 8 eligible shows made the Top 50 once again, and only Lupin fell outside the Top 30!
  10. Nah, I guess not. Though it either IS on right now or has just ended and I'm watching behind live. Lordy, what the hell am I doing up at this hour!?
  11. For those of y'all who still haven't seen MHA: Two Heroes yet, it's coming back on Starz! Kids & Family (Channel 527 on DirecTV) at 2:26 AM ET tonight/this morning. To my knowledge, it previously has only aired on Starz! Classic. So, set your DVR to record it or stay up to watch it if you've got nowhere to be tomorrow--and we all know a lot of people on this board stay up late to watch MHA anyway...
  12. Oh yeah, without a doubt it's been stellar! Hell, I'd dare to say it's almost TOO good. Quality premiere shows are getting stuck at 3 AM and beyond for the first time since 2014, despite the fact the block gets an earlier extra hour that it didn't have in 2014!
  13. One of the networks used to air Saved By The Bell with a "Zack Morris Void of Thought for the day" over the end credits. It was just something dumb he would say and was utterly hilarious!!
  14. Wow, they actually moved this discussion here!! I broke down and DVR'ed this movie; will watch later.
  15. Yeah, and I believe Toonami was wrong not to give it more of a chance at 11:30 PM before banishing it to the mid-block. I've heard some great things about what's to come in the early 90's...
  16. Yeah, I know. But those were both live-action. None of them were as action-forward as PRIMAL is gonna be. But it should also be noted that some websites have mentioned that PRIMAL is actually TEN episodes that are each 11 minutes long, which is a similar structure to Infinity Train. And it will be interesting how ratings websites like ShowBuzzDaily handle the show's ratings reporting: will it be making the chart as 2 15-minute episodes a night, or just 1 30-minute episode??
  17. At the start of June, Toonami had a 10-show lineup and featured a whopping 7 dub premieres: Dragon Ball Super; Attack On Titan (Season 3 Part 2); The Promised Neverland; Sword Art Online: Alicization; JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Part 4); Boruto; AND Hunter x Hunter. Now, 3 months later, all of those shows have ended except Dragon Ball Super and Boruto, and only one has been replaced by a dub premiere: JoJo by Lupin III Part 5. All the others have been replaced either by shows that have been out for a while such as Food Wars! or Gundam: The Origin (in its OVA format), or shows from 2019 that have been streaming for a while such as gen:LOCK, Dr. Stone, and Fire Force. The end result is a lineup with plenty of variety that is only slightly fresher than the one it gradually replaced (before, there were 4 shows from 2019 and now there are still 4), but is still hamstrung slightly by the fact that none of the 2019 shows are actually dub premieres. But looking back to Toonami's heyday on [as] in 2015, 3 dub premieres, which is what we have right now, is all we got ALL YEAR. Sword Art Online II, Akame ga KILL!!, Parasyte -the maxim-, and...yeah, that's it! The next year, 2016, was just as dismal variety-wise but really brought the dub premieres by comparison to 2015. During the year, Dimension W; Hunter x Hunter; Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans; One-Punch Man, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure had all joined the lineup. Of course, 2017 also brought it with Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters; and soon the World Premiere of Samurai Jack Season 5. Other dub premieres that would come later in the year included Attack On Titan Season 2; JoJo Part 3; Lupin III Part 4; and Gundam IBO Season 2--but over the year, ratings decreased sharply. All 3 years also included a Total Immersion Event: Intruder II; Intruder III; and Countdown, respectively. Despite 2018 boasting more episodes of World Premieres since 2014's Space Dandy with the FLCL sequel and prequel, as well as a pretty steady stream of dub premieres, including another season each of AOT and JoJo and the premiere of Boruto, ratings continued to decline. Now in 2019, we're looking at the first year without a World Premiere since 2016, unless you count The Forge TIE, but perhaps more dub premieres than any other year Toonami has been in existence on [as] so far! So far this year, there have been a total of 9 shows with episodes in dub premieres airing on the block (all mentioned above in the first paragraph, plus Megalobox)! However, now Toonami's game is shifting slightly as it begins to rely more on shows with fresher animation than ever before, and less on dubs that have never aired before on TV though the animation has been streaming for much longer. It remains to be seen if this gambit will pay off, but it's clearly sort of a temporary situation, with at least one more dub premiere known to be coming to the block before the end of the year in Demon Slayer, and others may be coming as well to bump that number of currently airing dub premieres up slightly. And the World Premieres will return in 2020 with Uzumaki already on the horizon.
  18. I think Megumi's are a little smaller. She's at least portrayed pretty consistently as a C-cup compared to all the other ladies' D's!
  19. Boy, trying to watch this episode with the west coast (sorta) was torture!! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/food-wars-shokugeki-no-soma/episode-9/.88705 Grade: "B-". Yeah, I agree that last week was done a little better and this week the show took a step back...
  20. Yeah, I tried to watch Dr. Stone (west coast, delayed) but I couldn't hold my eyes open...
  21. Maybe you're right. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/lupin-the-third-part-5/episode-12/.133149 Grade: "B+". And LOOK what we've got coming our way next week...
  22. Yeah, for real! Aizawa's not worried at all!!!
  23. Yep, that solved the problem! And now here's the guy with the goo quirk!
  24. Yeah, it really is a thing. Remember how the Pink Jacket lupin was such a goofball in Episode 6?
