  3. LMAO no one made a Boruto post! Oh well--discuss it here. 2 AM tonight/tomorrow (8/25) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  4. Evidence for marathon: they did one every Labor Day Weekend since 2015. Evidence against marathon: no marathon on Memorial Day Weekend or 6th of July THIS year. ALSO, shirking recent trends, DirecTV ALREADY has the 8/31 schedule up, complete with episode titles!!
  5. If you're in Texas, Toonami has a midnight snack for you. East coast? 1 AM!
  6. Get Pablo's Collection 3:30 AM Tomorrow (8/25) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  7. If you're gonna do that, at least practice proper usage of the "superscript" button! E=mc2

  9. Episode 125: A Commanding Presence! Advent of Top the Destroyer! TOP HAS DIVINE ENERGY!? What the hell is that all about!? Find out tomorrow at 11 PM--ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  10. Episode 8: Independence of the Principality of Zeon Last time you remember, all hell broke loose on the moon! Dr. Minovsky was killed by a cheap ripoff of his own creation, and the mysterious Lalah and Char had an encounter. One last time that you'll hear these songs... 3 AM tomorrow (8/25) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  11. For some reason, Toonami has chosen to re-air the end of Season 3 at every Saturday night at 4 AM, so if you're up that late, watch and discuss!!
  12. Episode 4: Training Daze The future is metal!! 11:30 tonight (8/24) ONLY TOONAMI!!
  13. UPDATE: Friday morning as of 11 AM CT, they finally got it right on DirecTV--well, almost... Dragon Ball Super - A Commanding Presence! Advent of Top the Destroyer! (curiously no episode number) Gen Lock - S1 E4 | Training Daze Dr. Stone - S1 E1 | Stone World Fire Force - S1 E5 | The Battle Begins Food Wars! - S1 E8 | A Concerto of Concept and Creation Black Clover - S2 E33 | The Victors Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - S1 E45 | Memories From the Day of Snow Naruto: Shippuden - S12 E22 | Secrets of the Reanimation Jutsu Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin: Advent of the Red Comet - S1 E8 | The Principality of Zeon Declares Its Independence Lupin the 3rd Part 5 - S8 E11 | Get Pablo's Collection My Hero Academia - S3 E16 | Shiketsu High Lurking And of course I immediately set Dr. Stone to record-series like I do with every Toonami show! I work from home so this was no biggie for me, but if you went on vacation this weekend early, NO STONE FOR YOU!!
  14. Yeah, not everyone who isn't a NEET works on Sunday, or at least, they SHOULDN'T. If you can't get it done during the week, there's always Saturday. Unless you're in retail or service industries--then yep, you're at their mercy on a Sunday. Or maybe something in construction or observational science. But if you've got an office job and you're working on Sunday, you're doing it wrong. But I digress...DirecTV finally updated their on-screen guide, and here's what we can look forward to this Saturday night: Dragon Ball Super - A Commanding Presence! Advent of Top the Destroyer! Gen Lock - S1 E4 | Training Daze Dr. Stone - S1 E1 | Stone World Fire Force - S1 E5 | The Battle Begins Food Wars! - S1 E8 | A Concerto of Concept and Creation Black Clover - S2 E33 | The Victors Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - S1 E45 | Memories From the Day of Snow Naruto: Shippuden - S12 E22 | Secrets of the Reanimation Jutsu Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin: Advent of the Red Comet - S1 E8 | The Principality of Zeon Declares Its Independence Lupin the 3rd Part 5 - S8 E11 | Get Pablo's Collection My Hero Academia - S3 E16 | Shiketsu High Lurking
  15. Could a Netflix original go into syndication on Toonami and beat Bojack Horseman (so far the only Netflix original, animated or live-action, to be picked up for syndication by a cable network)? With this 3rd season, there's no question (plus it airs at 12:30 AM-ish, maybe a few minutes later, for an hour), but what about when it first started with Season 1 almost a year ago in September 2018? Are these numbers beatable? http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-wednesday-cable-originals-network-finals-9-26-2018.html P18-49: 0.22 F18-49: 0.12 M18-49: 0.32 P18-34: 0.26 F12-34: 0.12 M12-34: 0.36 P25-54: 0.22 P50+: 0.10 Total Viewers: 413K Granted, that was at 10:30 PM, in a timeslot that Toonami doesn't currently have (and of course on a Wednesday as opposed to a Saturday), but those numbers are either worse or only slightly better (except Male 12-34, which was actually quite a bit better) than what gen:LOCK and Fire Force did last week! The similarity cannot be ignored, since both of those shows are also available in their broadcast forms on different streaming services, and with some scenes edited for time and content on TV. Netflix is the last frontier for Toonami, and it would be great for something like Carole & Tuesday or Cannon Busters to get the Bojack Horseman treatment, courtesy of the Better Cartoon Show!
  16. I guess, but I'm really not sure how in the hell to just DVR the block? Besides, I'd rather have the capability to marathon certain shows later, imperfect as it is. For example, the 2017 episodes of JoJo and Gundam Unicorn that got screwed up by Sand Whale and Me. I watched those a whole bunch of times, and they're were still good. The videos haven't been AS damaging lately, but you would think Toonami would co-produce episodes of 18-20 minutes long for a new show just to spread it out, and so they have some space to which to add stuff like that. The Forge, at 5+ minutes long per episode, either needs something like that or Toonami needs a 10:55 start time.
  17. This isn't an advertising issue--it's a DVR-era data issue. For a late-night block such as Toonami, especially for shows after 2 AM, it's absolutely vital that the network gets the right data out to the cable and satellite companies, or else people's recordings will be screwed up and shows either recorded under the wrong headings or out-of-order. But DirecTV usually gets it right by the Thursday before Toonami airs. I'm crossing my fingers that they have it right tomorrow and I can go ahead and set Dr. Stone to record! Update: Thursday morning, almost noon ET, and DirecTV STILL doesn't have the right shows listed on their on-screen guide! AAAAAAHHH!!!!
  18. I wouldn't go by that; my on-screen guide is still just as fucked up--for 8/24, THIS Saturday. The Dragon Ball Power Hour is right, but no shows during Toonami have episode numbers or titles, and Dr. Stone would be labeled as "Fire Force," Fire Force as "Lupin III Part 5", Lupin III labeled as "My Hero Academia", and MHA labeled as "Gemusetto Machu Picchu!" I sure hope they fix this!!
  19. Well, there was an old movie called "Diary of an Invisible Man" from the 1980s (of course it was based on a much older concept) in which he said "the last thing you want to do is watch me eat." Do we ever see her actually eat? It would be interesting to see how that would work. Perhaps her quirk doesn't really make her invisible so much as her cells are like tiny cameras which show what's on the other side of her? https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/my-hero-academia/episode-63/.137486 Grade: "A". Sam reviews this episode, and apparently he/she (can sometimes not tell with an asexual name like Sam) was just as mesmerized by it. Looking forward to more in Season 4!!!
  20. Yeah, really. That time could be better used for Toonami show promos. Now I'm fine with promoting other shows on [as] and other [as] happenings off-screen during Toonami, but Toonami is no place for weird bumps that have nothing to do with Toonami that serve no purpose other than to try to be weird and funny. Plus thanks to that stupid shit the commercials actually overran the intro bump and the first few seconds of the following show (Shippuden). Happened during gen:LOCK too. I actually had to stream the episode just to find out how much the OP was cut. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/boruto-naruto-next-generations/episode-44/.127516 Grade: "B-". Our reviewer, Amy, thought it was interesting in that it explored some areas of gray morality, but still kinda fell flat. I agree.
  21. So I guess it means both teams LOSE because it ended in a draw, so NEITHER gets to become a Royal Knight team? Somehow that seems a little unfair to me. Thought Asta might have to hold back on his Devil Powers, but he kicked Langris's ass with 'em and had a few left over for the crystal to boot! Too bad Xerx and Mimosa dropped the ball simultaneously on theirs! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/black-clover/episodes-82-83/.146793 Rating: 3.5⭐. Yeah, I agree with our reviewer, Sam, that the tournament arc kinda went off the rails, but Yuno is no minor character--he's Asta's recurring RIVAL. And I think that's what will make this last match of the tournament important.
  22. Full numbers out early today. Dragon Ball Super beat Family Guy by a wide margin in every known category except P55+!! https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-nascar-bristol-night-race-on-nbcsn-rises-from-last-years-record-low/ The first 3 shows on Toonami actually beat Friends on Nick At Nite in 18-49 to boot! 8/17/2019 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention DBZ Kai 318,000 DBS (R) 266,000 83.65% TOONAMI DBS (P) 771,000 118.43% Gen:LOCK 453,000 58.75% FireForce 410,000 90.51% LupinPt5 333,000 81.22% FoodWars! 350,000 105.11% B. Here are the years of the shows' animation on Toonami, going forward: 11 PM Dragon Ball Super - 2018 (7 episodes left!) 11:30 gen:LOCK - 2019 (5 episodes left!) 12 AM Dr. Stone - 2019 12:30 Fire Force - 2019 1 AM Food Wars - 2015 1:30 Black Clover - 2019 2 AM Boruto - 2018 2:30 Shippuden - 2012 3 AM Gundam: The Origin - 2016, but 2017 the following week (6 episodes left!) 3:30 Lupin III Part 5 - 2018 4 AM My Hero Academia - 2018 (rerun)
