  1. And I guess we're gonna see her quirk NEXT TIME! ON to Demon Slayer for now!!
  2. Welp, so much for my theory that MHA was going dub premiere on Toonami, though I guess theoretically that COULD still happen on May 9th or May 16th. If MHA is dubbing a new episode every 2 weeks instead of every week, they would run out on May 9th.
  3. The streaming schedule on the app has an "(L)" beside both show names. Make of that what you will.
  4. "Crunchyroll presents Toonami" or "Toonami powered by Crunchyroll" just might be where we ultimately are headed. If it actually does better at getting a few CR originals on the air during this pandemic, that might not be such a bad thing.
  5. THREE dub premieres? Oh, you must be counting SAO. We've been down to TWO since it left the block, as MHA Season 4 is not a dub premiere, but in a bizarre twist it MIGHT be if it continues to showcase new episodes after #84 that don't air on FUNimation NOW first. But not withstanding that, on May 9th and beyond, Toonami will actually only have ONE dub premiere: JoJo. All of the other shows on Toonami will be either new-to-Toonami shows that have streamed elsewhere or just straight-up reruns. In fact, if you ask me, Toonami's current situation kinda hearkens back to how it was in the late summer of (July/August) of 2013: 12 AM: THEN Bleach (dub premiere) NOW MHA (dub premiere?) or new show (if Uzumaki that would be world premiere) 12:30: THEN Naruto (rerun/repaint) NOW Paranoia Agent (rerun/repaint) 1 AM: THEN One Piece (new to Toonami) NOW Mob Psycho 100 (rerun) 1:30: THEN Soul Eater (new to Toonami) NOW Black Clover (new to Toonami) 2 AM: THEN Sword Art Online (dub premiere) NOW JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (dub premiere) 2 30: THEN IGPX (rerun) NOW Naruto Shippuden (new to Toonami) Toonami DESPERATELY needs new blood in the top slot after MHA ends, but can it get it? Nothing's really coming out new in Japan during this coronavirus crisis, and the few shows that are may not be dub premieres. Meanwhile, even though Toonami's real-world competition is down right now, Toonami's about to get a fierce competitor from Syfy that is promising NEW content that could be more than a nuisance if Toonami can only manage to muster one new show: https://deadline.com/2020/04/syfys-tzgz-late-night-animation-block-picks-up-3-new-series-orders-2-pilots-1202915368/amp/?__twitter_impression=true And who knows how long JoJo dubbed episodes will even be available?
  6. Episode #84 (Season 4, Episode 21): "Deku vs. Gentle Criminal" This dub was lovingly crafted at over 30 home studios, so be grateful! This may be the future of dubbing for a while during this pandemic, so let's embrace it! MIDNIGHT TOMORROW (4/25-4/26), ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  7. Episode 1: Enter Lil' Slugger Riddle me this, and riddle me that: who's afraid of the big golden bat!? Find out tomorrow night (4/25-4/26) at 1 AM in this Satoshi Kon classic!!! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  8. Episode 25: "Tsuguko, Kanao Tsuyuri" 12:30 AM TOMORROW NIGHT (4/25-4/26/2020)!! Only 2 episodes remain of the first season of this instant classic! Join Tanjiro as he trains with the mysterious Tsuguko for the battles ahead! ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  9. Considering we've got about 11 episodes of Black Clover left until it goes on dub hiatus, maybe the Reigen OVA special is what this IS building up to!? Worst case scenario, play 11-12 back-to-back if we run out of Black Clovers prematurely, then the Reigen OVA after that, then Season 2. Toonami just HAS to be bringing in something good for the midnight timeslot once MHA ends! However, I'd say an UZUMAKI/PA midnight hour combo is actually likely!
  10. The world is racing to find both. I think the "Shadow Clone Jutsu" effect may even apply here. It may normally take 6 YEARS to develop a vaccine for an illness if a single company goes at it in a proprietary manner, but with like 12 different labs around the world conducting experiments and sharing data, this could get done in 6 months. I believe the business world, which has been addicted to trade secrets for centuries, is about to learn the value of open-sourcing information is speed.
  11. Ironically, Code Geass: Akito The Exiled WOULD be a fine choice to get Toonami past a 2-show gap at the top these days! And at least we ended up getting Gurren Lagann and better Gundam shows in Iron-Blooded Orphans, Unicorn, and the Origin!
  12. It will not take 12-18 months for a treatment to be approved by the FDA or the Japanese equivalent. We're talking more like 4-6 months for that. 12-18 months is for the vaccine.
  13. Well, at least it made it to 132, which is one episode higher than Dragon Ball Super did. And, its COVID-induced hiatus will probably be over sooner than Super's non-COVID-induced hiatus!
  14. It's looking like MHA is gonna be the next series to get tried on weekdays, as it's getting a shot at 5:30 AM starting Monday Night/Tuesday Morning. I wonder what bizarre deal [as] made with FUNimation to make THIS possible!?
  15. We'll find out how the rest of the lineup did, BUT FIRST, how about a walk down memory lane? Here's how well TOONAMI did FIVE YEARS AGO: And now back to present day: "Adult Swim’s late-night line-up returned from a week off and performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.14/341K & 0.15/327K, MY HERO ACADEMIA at 0.30, DEMON SLAYER at 0.26, FOOD WARS at 0.25, BLACK CLOVER at 0.24/414K, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE at 0.20, NARUTO at 0.18/308K, PRIMAL at 0.15/263K and SAMURAI JACK at 0.15/260K." It doesn't say on the site, but all 6 of Toonami's shows gained markedly in 18-49 from 2 weeks ago! And here are the full numbers for the night: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-over-20-million-viewers-for-concert-one-world-together-at-home/ Last week's block was ranked #2 for 2020 in both total viewers and adults 18-49, and if you only compare the block against the 12-3 AM timeframe from earlier blocks this year, that holds true as well. 3/21/2020 is still tops for the year!
  16. Coming soon to the ratings thread: the 5 Years Ago Flashback Series!! Let's let the good times roll--from 5 years ago!
  17. Akame ga KILL!! is also missing, which is semi-famous for doing THIS:
  18. That's not right. Every Toonami timeslot added up in 2019 was over 200 million!
  19. The normal lineup returned, and MHA hit a new yearly high in terms of 18-49 rank: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-4-18-2020.html
  20. Nice try, mochi. Yeah, this thread is pretty much an epic fail!
  21. I don't know, but this was probably the most "WTF!?" music video they've played so far THIS year:
  22. Where were you last summer when shows were announced literally a week in advance? Food Wars came July 6th and was announced sometime the week of June 29th. Fire Force got announced 8 days before it aired, which led to an awkward early-block rerun of an AOT episode. I'd say we shouldn't be pushing the panic button on the re-introduction of reruns to Toonami for the first time in 2 months unless we get into May and we still don't know! If Toonami's in doubt, they could always bring back Boruto or Tokyo Ghoul! Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 is also low-hanging fruit but it doesn't last as long and the well of new shows from Japan is gonna be dry for a while!
