In the latest sign of Cartoon Network’s collapse, the Cartoon Network hotel is closing January 1, to be replaced by the Dutch Wonderland Inn

Dutch Wonderland is a Philadelphia amusement park which is next to the proposed site.  Think a cheaper version of Disney resorts.

Honestly surprised this hasn’t happened already. The place kinda had a depressing aura about it. Like something a parent would pay a lot of money for but the kids don’t really enjoy it because it’s a basic ass hotel with some CN themed gimmicks in the lobby.

I have also heard that this place is just a general dump hole with poor management and questionable cleanliness.

Even if the place was a dump, and apparently it was, it was still a symbol of the brand as a whole.  Things like the Nickelodeon characters being licensed to indoor amusement parks and a resort in Cancun are examples of the strength of said brand.  Here, meanwhile, it's just another example of Cartoon Network's brand being phased out.

Hardly. Maybe if this was something that existed in the 90s during CNs peak it would be a symbol of the brand. A crap hole dressed up motel in rural Pennsylvania using mostly defunct characters that only opened a couple years ago was a symbol of poor money management, nothing else.
