What he really needs to bolster that new party is a proven track record on a state, county and municipal level.  That takes decades to build.  If he just wants to try sweeping the White House and Congress without that, it's a no go.  

The likely scenario is that his party would only split the Republican vote and get a Democrat elected by plurality.
