In the real world there's no excuse for the death penalty. But in fictional worlds like DC (Joker should've been killed ages ago,) and One Piece where characters have super powers and/or repeatedly escape prison to cause more death and destruction, they're too dangerous to be left alive, as Mace Windu would say. 😄 Yes, his hand didn't move!
