If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  That seems to be the mantra here.  I do dislike the hard port stubs though, but those might be to reduce the dreaded drift.

Looks neat, it’s the first time since basically the SNES that Nintendo made a new system without INNOVATION.

Games are fucking $90, though.

I will stick to portable PCs. Steam is cheap.

I watched today's Nintendo direct. Idk, maybe I'm at a point in life where I can't keep up anymore. I feel like the switch 1 could have five more years of life in it.

I was real intrigued that their way to prevent scalpers is to open up pre-orders first to Nintendo online subscribers with a certain threshold of game activity. Probably more intrigued about that than having to start over a whole console.

Only a little surprised they're going with another sequel system, given how much of a disaster the Wii U was....

Guess they're banking on that "2" making it much clearer this isn't just the same thing in a new package.

 

Personally... yeah, if I'm gonna buy another system, it'd probably be Steam. I usually really enjoy Nintendo first-party games, but Zelda and Mario were such departures that I don't really have a lot of optimism or anticipation for future installments..

Now seeing a lot of speculation that the game prices have the tariffs built in, and that makes sense, but it’s pricing me out regardless. Thanks Trump.

Nintendo is also making a region-locked Japanese version that is about $120 cheaper than the others. Just in case you need further proof of the tariffs definitely saving us money.

Makes sense for the physical.

The digital games still be $20 more?  That's just old fashioned corporate greed.  It's enough to make me want a Steam Deck.

I feel weirdly pessimistic about a product that’s not out and I was probably not going to buy. I was gifted a Switch, wasn’t planning on even getting it. I love Nintendo but I can’t do games that pricey, and their first party titles rarely drop in price, so I can’t even play the waiting game.

 

Please, Bandai Namco, make Duskbloods just console exclusive.
