Phonetic pronunciation of the word "spiel".

Swear to god, always thought it was spelled "shpiel," but then I type it out and it tells me I'm wrong. Google the word, and there it is- no H.

And the first pronunciation is  /spēl.

So now I'm wondering if its a regional thing or something.

So that's my spiel, I guess.

Whatchu got?

No one is arguing, i just needed to hear it because having never heard it and trying to formulate it myself wasnt instilling confidence in me that i was hearing what you were saying....

And now hearing it....i just.....i need to process this.

I like how you were able to post this before I got to the thread, because I was going to remark about the glockenspiel, which I toyed with a little bit in elementary school music class. I could've sworn I remember my music teacher pronouncing it glockenSHpiel, but my memory may be wrong, as it has been a long while.

"Shpeel" all the way. Taught myself some German a long time ago. I'm nowhere near fluent, though, and what I do know is pretty rusty by now.

We know, we are just wondering when you plan to invade Poland
