to be fair I've eaten a lot of fusion cooking....and there's some that works and some that's an abomination

the kind that works is the kind that happens naturally...I.e. when people  try to recreate existing recipes but make substitutions when they can't find the ingredients because they don't exist in that country

then there's the kind hipsters do....where they just throw random shit into a pan with no plan, and hope it works....and when it doesn't....posture that you're just too stupid to understand it

Soma does the latter.....which is why his recipes are disgusting in real life

Hmm, no idea but don't the books come with the recipes? I'd think they'd test them then first.

Still not sure why the whole "central" thing was never brought up before now, or what it's supposed to be.

It was brought up at the beginning of last week's episode.

they do but they just aren't good.....there are a handful of the recipes that are palatable IRL but most are infamously horrible....like the Rainbow Tarrine....there's just too much going on and the flavors don't work together...I've never seen anyone recreate that recipie and not think it's absolutely vile

What I mean is it has not been referenced at all before this arc lol.

To be more specific, it was just ESTABLISHED in last week's episode.

I still like "glad you liked the meal" in Japanese rather than "you're welcome" in the dub.

Sounds like too many syllables to say in the dub.
