Just so yoiu know... Juggernaut is supposed to be from the bumpkins so he has a kaiji accent in Japanese. Im surprised Funimation never even given him a Southern accent.

Code Geass depicting Japan as victims of Imperialism and British and Americans as the villains was a fucking joke.

Outside of that whacked out Food Wars dub the whole Southern accent thing for bumpkins has not been done in like 20 years.

Eh, it's just science fiction, that believe it or not was set in 2017. But I am a little bit disappointed to see even shreds of that type of xenophobia in Fire Force! Then again, there was recently some in SAO, too, so I guess from here on out you might as well call the 1 AM hour the xenophobia power hour!

Episode 30 - Fire Force - Anime News Network

3 Stars! But the odds and ends in this review are especially interesting!!

she did spend her free time burning old people's homes down and extorting them for protection money are we really shocked she's evil?

Actually Inka predicted the fires, she didn't set them.  Still pretty bad though that she made people pay her before she would save them.

Oh you adorable sweet summer child. Villains can also be cute in anime too

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

there probably isn't Daring in the Frankxx just soured my opinion of Trigger

and also in my experience Giant Robot animes in general have a WEIRD relationship with LGBT storylines, they aren't always outwardly phobic but generally speaking the few that do include queer male characters make absolutely sure it ends horribly for the characters in question

Again this is just one of those things about those kind of shows.  Mecha series are often filled with tragedy, so gay characters simply don't get to have happier endings than anyone else would.

that was surprisingly restrained for a Tamaki fanservice scene

I happened to stumble upon some screen shots of future Tamaki fan service moments the other day.  Hoo boy lmao.

Maki is surprisingly bereft of airtime recently.

Dude she just had that big scene with controlling the fire tornado.

Kim Diehl from SOul Eater, this Inka shares Kim's character design (and her love for money)

In Soul Eater, Kim (one of the Shibusen weapon meistr class) turned out to be a witch in hiding. when her secret gets out, she flees shibusen and is treated sort of like an antagonist for a while

Was that not in the anime?

Only bad thing about the story with Inka, is she already killed her friend in cold blood.  So she has crossed the moral rubicon and is squarely a villain now.
