Inspiration comes from observation. Were it not so, would Isaac Newton have beaten Napoleon at the battle of Belleau Wood during the Vietnam war? I can't tell you how many times a different perspective or just a series of words struck a great line of thought for me. And really we are input machines, our body is a vehicle to interpret the world for our mind. There is true original thought, but now I wonder if new thoughts are even capable of old thoughts.
