The1gairon
1. THEY ADVERTISED IT WOULD ONLY TAKE PLACE FOR 24 HOURS!! WHY WOULD TOONAMI DRAG IT OUT FOR 5 WEEKS?!?! 2. IF THAT'S THE CASE, WHY THEN WOULD TOONAMI ONLY AIR ITS REGULAR SCHEDULE FOR ONE WEEK!?!? Edited August 24, 2020 by elfie
CountFrylock
the only explanation I've seen anyone give is that maybe toonami just didn't know DC Fandome was gonna start again the following month and so they were surprised to learn it was gonna happen once more on 9/
The1gairon
WE didn't know either! And Toonami, DC, Adult Swim, and Jake From StateFarm didn't tell us!

The1gairon
... since there's no way for fans to interact with anyone on a scheduled virtual stream that doesn't take call-ins, ..... aren't ALL virtual cons just infomercials?

Although it doesn't outright say it, the phrases they use implies that separating the con into two weeks was a last-minute decision.

TM i really can't imagine the toonami crew being happy about this at all....they just announced Assassination classroom and now they have to explain why that's only gonna air one episode before the regular block goes on break for three weeks and that's not even mentioning how they'll address the jojo fans who got slapped in the face with "Batman Takes Priority!" Sketch
They should have just let Ballmasterz finish and wait to start Ass Class if they are really doing two more weeks of DC movies (not necessarily just Batman).

OwlChemist81
It's highly unlikely that shitty site is even right, but, hey, if it is, all the better! ben0119
Is there any actual proof that Toonami is going to run DC movies again just because the Fandome event got split? It's not like screwed up or blank schedules have never been displayed before, before eventually being filled in with the regular schedule. Hell, my Suddenlink TiVo DVR used to seem convinced SAO was coming on EVERY WEEK even between seasons! Sounds like you are jumping to conclusions. OwlChemist81
Normal lineup next week, but I think it's still possible we get a different lineup on 9/12. Perhaps more DC movies for FanDome Part 2. After all, it will apparently be more animation-centric than Part 1 was!
Sketch
It would make more sense to do that on September 5th than the same day as the 2nd event and the 5th is Labor Day Weekend as well. But I won’t rule out the possibility that they will have Toonami promote the second day on the second day.
OwlChemist81
Or, maybe this time, to promote DC FanDome Part 2, they run a marathon of Robot Chicken DC Specials from 12 to 1:30, followed by a rerun of Batman Year Zero, on FRIDAY night 9/11. That might be more apropos to promote a Saturday event without disrupting Toonami again. And that way, Fire Force would only need to double-up ONCE to get through Season 1 at the current point to lead-in to the premiere of Season 2 on October 24th. Totally random to have an action movie on a Friday but they could probably do that. Using the RC DC Specials to promote DC Fandome is a good use of existing resources.
