Let's see how good you really are... take their job and negotiate your return to your current position at more money.

The ol Nigerian buyback.

the kind of crap they usually try to sell is contract work. i'm not interested in going contract

Ohio Means Jobs still calls me once every other month or so about job fairs or whatever near me. I gave them my number over 3 years ago when I was briefly on unemployment.

thankfully i don't get calls anymore from NJ for jobs. i think they finally gave up after i told them 1000 times i didn't live there anymore

Same.. I think I'm starting to regret not buying a burner to go through this temp company.. I could've made ends meet without a job for a while in quarantine with an unemployment claim paying me..Lady calls me and she did tell me like... "I never know what this guys going to do he might just throw you out there and put you to work especially you.." Sure enough no interview this guy just walked into the secretaries office and said set this dude up.. :|

Now I'm breathing ammonium sulphate.. I mean I've been stocked with M-95 masks before because of this covid shit.. but now you better believe I'm wearing that shit. It's either that or get tear gas PTSD everytime I breathe in... The people that have been there forever don't even care..I mean it's definitely not that bad.. especially as tear gas, but you can taste it and feel it burning your eyes from the dust.. I'm wearing a fucking mask. TMI probably my bad.

bad idea: giving those recruiters your real phone number instead of a throw away so now they call you every now and again about this AMAZING OPPORTUNITY

You can pay them back in kind. Start calling them non-stop, everyday, about STEADY (notice that italicize there) work. Tell them you're not in it for entry level, either. Also give them a salary range that is just above what you ACTUALLY want (for obvious reason). Call them and bug them about placement. Everyday. Same time. Call until you get them on the phone (or leave a couple messages, just for giggles), and ask if anyone opens up. Do this for a few days, and they will begin screening your calls, ignoring you and/or sending you to voicemail, or blocking you.
That's how I did it. It works like a charm if you're like you or me who are NOT entry, associate, or junior level personnel.

i've just started using Google's answering service which allows me to screen calls. i can catch them sometimes but not all the time.
