Zenigundam Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Before all the filler crap kicks in. Binge watching both series from the start for the next couple of months.
bnmjy Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 That's how most shonen are. They start out with a good premise, then they introduce new concepts and the plot becomes convoluted beyond comprehension, and you regret the dozens of hours you spent watching the hundreds of episodes.
quebecelegy Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 ive watched over 100 eps of shippuden filler, and i'd gladly do that again instead of ever watching another episode of one piece.

Most long-running shonen are only good for the first fifty or so episodes.

I've been skipping the opening and ending credits because the dub site I frequent uses the Japanese themes for the Naruto and OP, and I always much preferred the dubbed English version Viz and 4Kids themes.

Yes, and it seems the best anime tend to be around fifty episodes or shorter. I think elongating a series only helps with the merchandising prospects. Although One Piece usually gets ratings of around five percent and Japan is an aging country. Either the kids there really like it or there are a ridiculous amount of otaku. Or most likely both.
Misaka Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Don't lie. They were never good. You can't say the chuunin exam was horrible The Gaara vs Lee was good
StarPanda Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 To mee one piece got better as it went on Bleach and Naruto were good for my the beginning Yes I like BLEACH
Top Gun Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 You can't say the chuunin exam was horrible I can and will, because Togashi did it far better first.
Misaka Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I can and will, because Togashi did it far better first. Who? We talking manga vs anime?
Top Gun Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Togashi, as in the creator of Hunter x Hunter. I only saw its 1999 anime adaptation after sitting through Naruto's opening arc, and all I could do was be amazed at just how much Kishimoto had ripped off the Hunter Exam (down to very minor details!) for the Chunin Exam, only he managed to lose most of what made the former enjoyable in the process.
Sieg67 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I've been enjoying Naruto the last few episodes. It's been goofy but I like it.
Sieg67 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Also note the fight scenes being copied. Or we can call them homages.
Zenigundam Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 It's hard to forget something that never happened. Watch your mouth, stilgar. *approaches*
