Sieg67
My brother's dog died and my mom will take him to the lake tomorrow to bury him. Until then, dead dog in the living room. Not a fun night. To think he was just at the Vet yesterday and seemed mostly fine when he left. I don't need sympathies by the way so don't feel obligated. My brother is probably broken up, though. I stopped by his work to tell him. Edited November 30, 2019 by Sieg67

He was old but I don't think that was the issue. He started coughing and then started breathing in short rapid breaths which tells me that he wasn't getting enough oxygen. The vet prescribed some antibiotics and and pain meds assuming it was an infection(Turns out he also had a fever) but their X-ray machine was broken so they weren't sure either. He was breathing fine when we checked him out. I think my brother waited way too long to decide to get him to the vet. He doesn't have a car and doesn't make a lot of money so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I drove him and the dog to the vet and let him borrow 700+ to cover the bill. Raptorpat
generally get so caught up in the emotion of people/pets dying that acknowledging the actual logistical aspects of death feels so weird to me, whenever it happens
BlackNoir
All of this is pretty sad because I definitely have a softer spot in my heart for pets than people........ But why just leave him in the living room? I mean it seems kind of morbid.

My step dad came by to pick him up just a couple of minutes ago. Edited November 30, 2019 by Sieg67
