Rogue_Alphonse
But horrible at math. like, I can look at certain things and guess it’s length within inches, and I know standard sizes of appliances, cabinet bases, and other household things. i know that I can use a 13mm socket on a 1/2” head bolt. Same with a 14mm on a 9/16”, etc. but god damn if I have to figure out a good estimate on how much money I’ll need for gas on a road trip I never can remember the formula and still need a calculator. RainyDayJizz#35
Spatial recognition has nothing to do with processing numbers, so I hope you understand it now. I must find another thread to destroy the premise of.

Like part what makes me quick with installing flooring is because I’m “good at math”. But I’m not.
RainyDayJizz#35
It's a matter of rote memory as well. I'm good at math but the only reason I know 3 to the 5th is 243 is because math books use it constantly and I tutored for a few years.

PhilosipherStoned
Probably your exoerience in fields that require measurements.. I can do the same with stuff I'm familiar with. Determinin proper tailored balde size for an individual.. I mean carpentry etc.. Usually experienced people just kind of save stuff like that to memory or atleast have tricks like basing the measurements off of other common objects they can use. That's not really math it's just numbers.. or measurements...
