I tried to get Discord to function but they laid out a giant chonking horker of an update at some point.  So looks like I'll be here for now.  Did I miss any chaos?

Damn, we were just talking about you last night... I was tempted to PM you on there to see how you were doing.

There is always chaos.

I thought this thread was going to be about dial-up.

I was actually thinking about this last night... Not only do I think dial-up Internet is an obsolete technology, I think once all the baby boomers die off, phone land-lines will all die off entirely. They're like 100% completely obsolete now. After the boomers die off there'll be no more people too poor to have cell phone service (unless maybe they're so poor they're living out of their car or worse) because they can have their phone, Internet, and TV all in that one device. There's no need for cable TV, there's no need for PC's, there's no need for land lines for actual phone service, and there's no need for land-lines for cheap Internet service. It would be much cheaper to have all that in a cell phone.

I know people who still use it. But yes, dial up internet is dying as a whole.

I thought it along with DSL was obsolete as well until I was working on my dad's house... I know he doesn't have landline phones and I was about to yank a phone line that was tacked along some door trim away until he said, "Careful with that, it's the internet..."

I looked at him in disbelief xD

Stank availability otherwise.  Out in Deer Penis, TN where I live there's nothing out here outside of $200 a month satellite internet and dial-up.  Though I wised up and decided to get a cell phone ( I can at least internet and watch porn but gaming is out of the question ).

The Discord misses you dearly.

The people I am referring to live in rural areas that don't have access to broadband or high speed internet. Dial up is the only service they can use. Crazy that this can still be a thing in 2019, huh?
