Geez.. This is why I don't want to get a tarantuala.. Was it just having trouble molting so it wasn't moving, or some other undeterminable cause?

it molted then hid from me a little too well and I mistook its molt for a body. this was before I got my new glasses and could actually see

I can give you lots of notes about spiders if you need em :D

Thanks, I'll remember that when I really start working on it. Spiders are very fascinating, but they seem too complicated for my simple self to keep alive. Molt husks that look like their dead bodies and going without food for months but still alive? Whew, dogs are way easier for me to handle. I hope your spider gets better.

yeah, they're kind of weird that way. but my bad vision before I got new glasses had a lot to do with it. and thanks I got him some food and a moist environment he should recover

and stupid god damn bad eyesight too :D

I had a somewhat similar situation with my hermit crab. I thought he died because his old exoskeleton was attached to his shell so I placed his aquarium in the garage to prepare him for burial and when I came home from school the next day the little shit fuck was eating his former self.

He came real close to getting buried alive.

I'm glad you saw that and didn't bury him :D I noticed the spider was still alive when I saw new webbing in the enclosure

so, do you buy it crickets/or other insects to feed him/her?

yeah, I do I buy crickets. I once bought 1,000 crickets online that was too many. most of them ended escaping and populating the neighborhood now I just buy like 10 or 20 or so at a store

Yeah I don't live close enough to a pet store to buy the suggested meals for one..and I sure as hell am not hunting them down for it.. I've heard doing that can lead to a lot of nutritional issues, and death anyway.

yeah, you don't know what a wild insect has gotten into. it could have gotten into insecticide or something
