King of the Hill on Comedy Central

So for those who don't know, Adult Swim recently lost King of the Hill, and Comedy Central grabbed it up. I first heard of this probably a couple or so weeks ago, but it wasn't until this morning that this occurred to me:

Think Comedy Central will resurrect King of the Hill like they did Futurama? There was a thread posted here some time ago that contained a link to an article where Mike Judge expressed interest in reviving it.

I doubt it will be revived, and it would be better that it's not.

The show was great until about halfway through its run where the characters became more and more flanderized and the situations more cartoony.

I have been enjoying the early episodes they've been showing recently. KOTH had a certain magic about it in those first six or seven seasons.

I doubt it. Futurama was actually revived by adult swim, but that has proven to be a failed attempt with new shit. King of the Hill was already like the top 5 longest running animated series? Not much more they can do

Adult Swim got Futurama the interest it needed to be revived, but Comedy Central did the rest.

Your second point is a fair one.

I think it would be great for Mike Judge to come back to animation. And not Beavis and Butthead again.

I see your point in the Flanderization of the characters (lol I just learned this term a night or two ago), but I thought the series was still really good til the end.

It failed with comedy Central... Isn't that why scyfy has it now?

It went from 2009 to 2013 on Comedy Central. Not a bad run. Definitely could have done better, though. On the whole, Comedy Central's brand of comedy is probably too "edgy" for Futurama to have really been a fit. So the true would probably be the same for King of the Hill, now that you make me think about it. xD

I haven't heard anything about it being on SyFy

Would he be a trump guy? I mean, he like Carter.

I'm pretty sure his appreciation of Carter begins and ends with how he got Hank and Cotton to resolve their differences that one Christmas.

Speaking of Cotton, now HE'D be a hardcore Trumper. Of course he's dead though. :|

idk i dont remember that much about his political views i guess. i thought he was a republican tho. hes not like far or alt right. he never seems to be outright racist to black ppl but is to kahn sometimes.

he is often gullible. and i think thats what would make it funny. like hank wouldnt like trump bc he thinks trump is a white supremacist. he would just believe that trump actually is the least racist man youve ever met.

Hank had a "man crush" on George W. Bush until he gave him a limp handshake. He basically refused to vote for him after that, but he also gave no indication he was voting democrat.

That's what stuck out to me as well... I think it would be an interesting subject, considering his values are limited to a man's man perspective... Trump may stroke that, but he also would have an issue with his ongoing views on affairs, his support or Russia, and his shitty business sense .. tho he sticks with his boss .. but trump is also a Patriots guy

Hank sticks by Buck because Buck gave him purpose in life (to sell propane). I don't know what Hank would perceive Trump has done for him. But hard core conservatives do massively bend their morals to support Trump, so eh.

Does Trump like the Patriots? I have no idea where he's from, or if he said that. If he did say that, I'm sure it was for one of two reasons: 1) They've been at the top of the heap for what, a couple decades now? And he's bandwagoning, or 2) he just likes to say he's a "patriots" fan to play up his "America is broken and I am going to be the patriot to fix it" image. If he actually is from New England, than I apologize. Now, having said all THAT, I don't know if there's any rivalry between the Patriots and the Cowboys that would make Hank care about that considerably. They don't share the same market, and are not in the same division.... But as a 90s 49er fan I'll always hate the Cowboys, so I know sports rivalries are not always created by home markets and divisions.

buck is actually similar to trump in many ways. buck plays golf or goes to strip clubs when he should be working, cheats on his wife w/younger women, and treats his employees badly. the way hank overlooks buck's flaws are how i see hank overlooking trump's flaws.

King of the Hill was popular way before Adult Swim, so Comedy Central will only introduce it to younger viewers, not increase its peak popularity. Futurama was different bc it made Adult Swim blow up in popularity until Family Guy even though there was this one amazing, and superior comedy named Mission Hill on AS before Futurama came into the picture, and I'm not even a fan of Futurama, but I remember it even being advertised on radio stations over here to promote its initial AS run, Orson Wells type promotions.

Good points. I just want to say though, that Futurama I think started off pretty mediocre, but by the time of it's first cancelation on Fox it had become downright brilliant. Mission Hill was cool too. Back in the day AS had a wealth of shows that got canceled way too soon. They even created a couple of their own in Moral Orel and Stroker and Hoop.

I would be ok with more Tender Touches if they get all their voice actors to record actually live with them instead of that woman that must've recorded her lines over the fucking phone or something so god damn retarded. It looked like it was probably some art/film school student's final project, but didn't they know ANY other woman at all that could've played that part? Put on ad on craigslist, "Hey looking for a woman to voice a character on a cartoon, will pay in pizza and beer"? Not one single woman that could've recorded her lines actually with them was available?

I was never a big KOTH fan so I can't follow a lot of this conversation. It was like if Mr. Anderson had a show to me and I always found his contribution to Beavis and Butthead to be minimal. But I have to wonder how Hank would respond to a Trump handshake. Would he be appalled or impressed? I'd like to think appalled, and Hank comes away from the experience thinking something is wrong with the man.

As successful of a business man Trump is, I don't know why his handshake would be limp. But then again the real world GWB probably didn't have a limp handshake either (it would be hard to get anywhere in politics with one... then on the other hand, he did have an "in" with his dad... eh).

You haven't read about Trump's handshake? I look into the world news every few weeks to check up on you lunatics and I remember it being mentioned the Mexican or Spanish Prime Minister... Someone with a Spanish last name and important was briefed on Trump's handshake. Shinzo Abe had the best reaction I saw.

Notice how at the beginning Trump tugs the shit out of his arm.
