supposedly season 6 draws parallels between the backstory of Keith's parents and Keith and lance (namely making his dad look exactly like Lance, his mom look exactly like him, and having their personalities be the same as who they look like respectively)

and Jeremy Shada (Lance's VA) says the parallels were on purpose

 

this comes 3 seasons after Jeremy laughed at fans in an interview and said his character was completely heterosexual and that the ship-teases fans were seeing were completely imaginary

IMO making that ship Canon would be the only part of the show that's not shit.....but....again, I'm not taking the bait because the writers already made their case for homosexuality not existing in the VLD universe back in season 2 or 3

it's a co-production with a Japanese Studio, based on an old Japanese anime, and they even reverted some of the show's content to reflect the Japanese version, such as reverting half the character's names to their original japanese names

The pairing makes no sense, and everyone who keeps insisting on “Space gays” is a goddamn idiot that’s better off watching a show about actual gay people instead of demanding a cartoon for young boys turns into a homosexual romance.

And here’s a question for all?  Why are the Tumblrinas so insistent, so violently insistent on kids shows having gay content and being furious if something else is present?  Is it an inability to handle adult shows that handle the content in a more nuanced and equal manner?  A desire to make others feel miserable?  I mean the show sucks because of a lack of robot action generated by a seeming hatred for it (which is why Franxx is better), but the insanity that permeates the fans is scary.

It also hasn’t translated into toy sales.  The human toys all flopped.

Also, I watch this series, I'd guess there are a fair number of young adults that watch cartoons/anime in the US (if not even the majority). Just look at this forums for instance.

Voltron was never meant to be that.  The fujoshi that keep trying to turn it into that pretty much want to ruin the show.

But yeah, it’s adults obsessing over shows like this (and going REEEEE when characters are straight), shows like Steven Universe, and their merch sales are proof that these people should be ignored and shunned.

Frankkx is a million times worse because it has underage characters who are drawn looking like they're 8 fucking on screen and getting eachother pregnant (''>_>'')

admittedly artstyle could be a factor but I belive the cast of DITF are meant to be around 17 or so

contrast one of the shows it ripped off, Rahxehon that depicts seventeen year olds at their final adult height (because people reach their adult height at 16)

(note Ayato is a little taller than Haruka who is a grown woman)

and Darling in the frankxx where all the kids have enourmous heads and tiny hands, making them look far younger than their alleged ages would make them out to be

Females usually stop growing around 16-17, but males may not reach their full height until 20 or so.  I think I gained an inch or two in freshman year of college.

they must since they're still selling them and have added more types of Funko pops to the SU funko pop collection
