you can get it if you know where to go. surprisingly there was a french restaurant where i've found the best roast beef sandwich since i was up north

Probably easier to buy a cut of beef and make your own, assuming you have the time and the kitchen space.

i always get two deli guys arguing in my head if pastrami is hot or just a different flavor of cold meat.

Yeah, I usually eat it temperature hot, but it's never been like pepper hot to me. xD
