I'm gonna have to rectify my money situation before I start spending a bunch of money on music production,

and or video making, but if any of you guys have any input on what recording/video making software to use

or ideas for entertaining content aside from music they would be appreciated. I uploaded one of my songs to

play around with Windows Movie Maker, and the YouTube metadata options, and I already don't like the Filmora

watermark/logo being automatically added in on the free version of Windows Movie Maker.

For most good video editing software, you're going to need to buy or at least torrent stuff. Adobe CS [Premiere Pro and After Effects] are generally comsidered the best, or close to it.

For a beginner, iMovie is servicable but don't get too attached to it unless you only want to make simple edits. Not sure it runs on anything but an Apple OS, though. I only mention it since it's better than Windows Movie Maker. WMM is kinda a joke to filmmakers. It's very unstable, has limited functionality, and doesn't render very well. If you buy anything, don't buy WMM, it's okay as a starting point for free, but most other options have higher value, albeit higher cost as well.

All that said, if you're just pasting clips together and syncing clips, it shouldn't matter too much what you use, honestly. It depends on how much you're putting into the video itself.

Adobe Premiere, Audition, Photoshop

Covers your video, sound, and image needs

what daw do u use?

I have been using Cool Edit Pro as my DAW (Digital Audio Interface) since I built this computer. I had Adobe Auditions cracked on a laptop, and I started out using that..The DJ that finally got this contraption to boot  gave it back to me with cool edit installed..it's the predicessor to adobe and outdated as fuck.

He also gave me a full FL Studio program that I'm thinking about switching to for hip-hop productions because even the latest version of adobe that's expensive as fuck..doesn't have some of the functions I've experiemented with and if it does it's def . not set up for a musician to be able to use.. If I had the extra cash I still might buy the latest Adobe DAW though.

Oh so my next question is..is this program cooler than the filmora shit. better free options prolly?

I was trying to get Windows Movie Maker installed in the first place.

https://www.windows-movie-maker.org/

It's been factory installed on all my comps since 2015......I don't know why you would need a DL for it unless you're still using W7

EDIT: and yes, better than Filmora

See I feel the same way but I think I may know why. I paid that dj like 10 bucks just to use an install from his windows 7 disk for the o.s. because he offered and it was cheap. I did the free windows 10 upgrade from there to get windows 10, but it doesn't come with all the factory installed crap.. I'll definitely use it over what ever the f this is because they want their name loud and proud all over your vid for sure unless you pay them. xD

By the way, for Youtube revenue, you're going to want a Patreon. It's fully possible to monetize Youtube videos, especially if you aren't doing anything with copyrighted material [such as reviews, which often get hit with false flags] or "offensive" material [strong language, violence, or sex, political subjects also get demonetized], however the monetization through Youtube proper has plummeted in recent years for most creators. The main source of Youtube income now is regularly through Patreon or similar sites since YT is boning the majority of their content creators.

I also hear Bandcamp is a good place for music monetization, but can't say for sure since I haven't researched music as much. Spotify can be good for exposure if your name is big enough, but you'll get pennies even if you break hundreds of thousands of listens. I hear Bandcamp is better for indie artists.

Yea if you have FL use that.

This guy is on target:

https://ehomerecordingstudio.com/best-daw-software/

any of those would be great for you. I love Reason personally but it’s way different and more for synth junkies than just another DAW so a lot of rappers I know don’t prefer it. I see a lot of rappers using presonus now.

I think I've heard people mention presonus.. alot of this shit just frustrates me because every tech

company has a daw now.. They all want you to think their shit doesn't stink..and from what I've seen

they all have to try and goad you into some sort of effing subcription.. protools is outrageous.

Definitely not worth the benjamins even if the thing could compose my music for me...

Which it can't. Fuck you Protools.

Try em all. Use what you like. The one YOU like is the best one. Nobody recommends Reason, but is my fav so I use. And so, is the best as far as I’m concerned.

Presonus has melodyne which is the best auto-tune there is built right in. Which is pretty cool.

It’s just a tool for shaping sound. There’s a lot in the studio that you can use it for. I bet u I could think of a dozen uses that have nothing to do with vocals

and now you see why I'm just trying to go with youtube...fuck this soundcloud crap..

I mean I know there's things here at this site, and with the software or whatevs making shit

big and unruly, but AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT. >:(

Thanks..It's been hard trying to get myself to keep going honestly. I impress myself sometimes with the

lyrics I come up with...that's about the only thing that's keeping me going at this point.  I'm gonna have to get a

second job soon..and even though that'll probably give me the money to keep supporting dj's and

making my stuff.. I'm not sure how focused and determined I can be. The money I've spent for this shit

is way too much it seems. idk if I can stop anyway though. :(

Even some of the biggest youtube channels I'm subscribed to are using  it which is scary as fuck..I've heard the term patreon beggars used by a youtuber..he's honestly just a crazy as fuck Australian old guy that got hip to the demonitization bot a bit late I think.. He's only recently been complaining about the adpocalypse so this is why I say this...
