mochi
it's been revealed who the Original "Legendary Super Saiyan" was, and it's also been revealed that the Original super saiyan didn't actually go "super saiyan" he was actually the first Super Saiyan GOD (which makes me wonder why Legends remembered him with golden hair and not red hair but I digress) his name was Yamoshi apparently in Z he (or the vuague concept of him since he wasn't really a character yet) was depicted as a giant Great ape engulfed in fire but in super....he is weirdly enough just Drawn as a doppleganger of Vegeta supposedly it also reveals that Super Saiyan as a form isn't unlocked by training or the death of a loved one, the only way to unlock it is for Yamoshi's spirit to decide you're pure of heart enough that you deserve the form (so it's a straight up retcon) it could however explain how Vegeta accessed Super Saiyan Blue without going Super Saiyan God.....I guess yamoshi just decided Vegeta was kind enough that he could have it now (that said in the Manga he does go Super Saiyan God with absolutely no explaination how he unlocked that form, but I guess we know how he unlocked it now, he just proved to yamoshi that he was a good person so Yamoshi just gave the form to him out of nowhere) for some insight on Yamoshi's backstory he was apparently a pure hearted and good Saiyan who started an Uprising against a larger group of Evil Saiyans on Planet Sadala, and ultimately drove the evil Saiyans off of Planet Sadala to the Planet they eventually conquored and renamed planet Vegeta, presumably after he drove them off Planet Sadala they blew it up Killing him and all the good Saiyans in the process and apparently he now exists as an unseen literal god who's only purpose is to control who does and doesn't get to use his Super Saiyan forms based on the ammount of Kindness in their hearts Edited December 1, 2017 by mochi
PokeNirvash
Super was a mistake, long live GT.
Daos
Oh my god the needless retconning. This is just sad. This is becoming as bad a retcon fest as Warcraft. So I guess Yamoshi is much more generous in Universe 6 with their Saiyans? Edited December 2, 2017 by Daos

CaptainStarwind
It really says something when I hate Dragon Ball GT, yet prefer it to Super. Toriyama is definitely trolling at this point. I suspected it before, but it's certain now.

Guest The Hound
Everyone cried and cried for years for new Dragon Ball content. Now here it finally is now, by the original author. People will always find something to bitch about. Just be happy we're watching/reading new DB content. I am. Sure there is some plot holes, but it's not like DB hasn't been full of them anyway. Daos
Except it isn't by the original author. Toriyama has little to do with the writing beyond some concepts and art.

Toriyama has little to do with the writing beyond some concepts and art. it's mostly Toei's doing Toriyama sends Toei character designs and VERY VAGUE plot outlines for each arc (basically as simple as "[insert enemy here] appears and is going to [insert disaster here] to the earth so Goku must stop him" meanwhile his "successor" Toyoyaro writes the manga and ironically, Toyotaro seems to have issues with the anime, since his manga differs drastically from the anime at many points some major differences between the anime and Toyotaro's manga include 1. In the Manga Bulma's Birthday still takes Place at the Capsule Corp building like it did in battle of the gods rather than on a ship like it did in the anime 2. Goku and Beerus's battle is much longer and more detailed with them flying all over the earth, rather than them spending 3 episodes in the same place like they do in the anime 3. the Ressurection f Saga does not happen in the manga, it jumps straight from Botg to the u6 vs u7 tournament 4. Vegeta goes Super Saiyan God in the manga, while he never achieves that form and goes straight to super Saiyan Blue in the anime 5. the small filler arc we are currently on, never happens in the Manga, it goes straight from the u6/u7 tournament arc into the Black Goku arc (which means no Vegeta torture porn in the manga) 6. Vegeta behaves more in character in the manga (Toyotaro was allegedly a Vegeta fan before Toriyama hired him), the anime seems to enjoy making him have out of character bursts of cutesy cowardly behavior. but aside from the Bingo dance, no such scenes involving him ever happen in the Manga 7. Goku is a really really horrible person in the Manga....not that he isn't prone to strange scenes in the anime as well, but the manga seems to play up his questionable scenes even more in an attempt to make Vegeta look better by comparison(like the scene where Goku says he avoided both Gohan and Goten's births on purpose and has never kept track of how old they are, in the anime he says no such thing) and that's just a few of the differences
