SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 That depends on which week payday is and if they hold ypur first check.
fuggnificent Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 is it bad form to qsk them on the 1st day? kinda need to know
Sandstone Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Assuming payed only on weekdays and not weekends it would be the 23rd, if on weekends it'd be the 27th. That is assuming that they pay you from your individual start date and not a standardized pay period, in which case it may be +- a few days.
bnmjy Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 You don't. All your wages are being garnished for the student loans you took out to eat at Red Lobster. :it:
Sandstone Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 is it bad form to qsk them on the 1st day? kinda need to know I don't think it is necessarily bad, depending on how you ask the question. Just ask something like, "Can I ask when my first pay date will be? Is it from start date or is it based on pay period?", I would probably only ask the manager in private though and not when they are busy with something else. Probably not a good idea to bother them while they are handling some issue or something.
Zenigundam Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 ^ Not great advice PM me, Fuggz. I know what the answer is.
SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 is it bad form to qsk them on the 1st day? kinda need to know At the end of the interview, when they asked if you had any questions for them, thats when you should have asked this question
Sandstone Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 At the end of the interview, when they asked if you had any questions for them, thats when you should have asked this question This is also probably true, though a lot of people are nervous about asking such stuff in interviews. I did when I went to my first interview for a job and I still got it. Being honest with employers especially about expectations tends to be more effective than not.
fuggnificent Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 At the end of the interview, when they asked if you had any questions for them, thats when you should have asked this question nah i dont agree. i dont even ask abt wages during an interview
SwimModSponges Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Wow, we tell you right off the bat about compensation, its literally like the third thing we bring up after availability requirements.
lupin_bebop Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 is it bad form to qsk them on the 1st day? kinda need to know Yes. It is bad form. If I was the one hiring you, I'd immediately think you're here for a paycheck. No real motivation to keep you, knowing your work history. I don't think it is necessarily bad, depending on how you ask the question. Just ask something like, "Can I ask when my first pay date will be? Is it from start date or is it based on pay period?", I would probably only ask the manager in private though and not when they are busy with something else. Probably not a good idea to bother them while they are handling some issue or something. Good advice here. At the end of the interview, when they asked if you had any questions for them, thats when you should have asked this question BEST advice here.
