Professah Tex
seems like everybody everywhere has experienced a few outages recently. My parents said they lost power for half a day during a storm, and my cable/phone company had a mass outage.

NaBarney
I lost it for twenty hours last month. Only sucked bc I couldn't cook anything. It almost always goes out whenever any storms roll through, always some tree somewhere that decides to take down a line that affects me, I guess. I would miss it for more than just a lack of home-cooked food, lol.

Codename: Jackass
Power went out on Christmas Eve and stayed out for three days when I was like seven. Terrible ice storm, we had sleet and freezing rain for about a day and it took down a bunch of trees and power lines. One of the scariest things was being huddled up against my mom for warmth, wearing my jacket and shoes because it was so cold, no idea what time it was in the middle of the night, and hearing the tree limbs snapping and crashing to the ground. One tree limb fell on our driveway and it was only because we had the foresight to move the car into the street that the car didn't get smashed. It's a small miracle that the house didn't get hit. Our street got power back sooner because of the old lady across the street who needed an oxygen machine. Some of those less fortunate went without for a week or more. Doom Metal Alchemist
I hate when that happens it always seems to happen at night when I use electronics the most Also when you can't see shit without electricity. But yeah, it seems to happen at night more often than not. When it happened tonight it was still a little light out so I could at least navigate through my house and find a flashlight in case I needed one. Codename: Jackass
I'm sure people have had it much worse than I. Power outages are a regular occurrence here, though. Happens at least a couple of times every spring when the storms roll through. It's kind of comfy if it's not at two in the morning. Sitting with a lantern in the middle of the room, back door open listening to the rain and thunder. Having a web-enabled phone and data plan makes it a lot more tolerable, though. God forbid I should have to read a book or jack off without electricity. When it's in the middle of the night it really sucks because I use a fan to help me sleep and without the sound I'm wide awake.

Codename: Jackass
A few hours. The electric delivery company around here runs a pretty tight ship. Oh yeah, have you ever seen a power transformer explode? It's awesome. I saw it a couple times. I could hear them going out all night during that ice storm. It makes this really cool "BRRRRRRMMMMM-*POW*" sound and then a bunch of blue and purple lightning.

Doom Metal Alchemist
That's pretty much how it is here, power outages are pretty common especially during the spring We used to get a lot more power outages here many years ago, while there was still a lot of houses being constructed in our neighborhood. These days maybe we'll maybe experience one power outage a year or so.

I didn't have power for all of Friday night, not a bad storm just a lot of wind from that Gulf storm which took down some trees, as always
