Any fans/haters of Kingdom Hearts?

I'm thinking about getting that collection on PS4 with like six games. I played the first one a long time ago but only got to the Tarzan level. I would've put this in the video games section but that folder is dead and no one would see it or respond, not really sure if it will be any different here though.

I go back and forth on how I feel about it

Kh1 = Good because solid gameplay/ it was cute/ there wasn't any queerbaiting(some fans read gay subtext into Sora and Riku but personally there wasn't much in this game)

kh2 = mediocre/ the gameplay was not as good(it wasn't bad though)/ it was shameless and open self promotion for Disney(the first game handled it better)/ and Sora and Riku seemed extremely gay despite both being canonically heterosexual, also Axel though it isn't 100% Canon if he even has a sexuality....yet

kh re-chain of memories = gimmicky as fuck but otherwise good/ the cardgame stuff was annoying but I liked it otherwise/ kinda annoyed that this game was the beginning of the Soriku shipping bait

kh358-2 Days = decent/ ignoring the shameless Axel X Roxas stuff that'll never be canon it was okay

kh3d Dream Drop Distance/ I've never personally played this one but I've seen a lets play and the reveal that Riku is a "Dream eater" bonded to sora (meaning he's a succubus that gains sustenance from Sora showing him affection) was very very strange and incredibly gay  ::]:: Buuuut he'll probably end up with Xion since she's (I think?) a real person now and she's basically a female clone of Sora

I expect more super Gay Soriku and Axel subtext in kh3 that ultimately gets shot down when they marry a bunch of girls they've never shown any interest in before  ::]::

Kingdome hearts fill a void if you have Disney along with Square nostalgia but those games are hardly what I'd call good.......I mean they aren't bad either but you're definitely not gonna want to marathon them because it gets repetitive fast.

Yeah, no way I would intend to marathon them. Probably wouldn't even play all the side games, period.

I didn't mess around with the portable games, and hopefully, 3 won't force me to have to watch/play them to understand the plot.

Irrc I heard Birth By Sleep is really the only one that has any meaningful plot. So if I get the collection I'd probably just play 1-2 and that.

Hmm I could be remembering wrong but that seems like an unpopular opinion. I might agree though if 2 doesn't have the gummy ship. Back when I played the game over 10 years ago I recall liking those parts.

admittedly the gameplay was about the same but there were little tweaks I didn't like

like the "action sequences" (wherein you were asked to press buttons to make cutscenes happen mid battle), and the fact that much of Sora's abilities were mad weaker to supplement his "boost forms"

Birth by Sleep, 358-2 days and Dream Drop Distance all set the ground work for Kh3's plot
