It's a little more complex, but I find it interesting, and I understand your perspective. However, I believe we shouldn't focus solely on the potential for a war with China, especially considering what Trump has been doing. That said, I do think it's likely that China will make a move on Taiwan.
When it comes to how a war would play out, it's almost impossible to predict accurately, even with the most advanced wargaming. There is a significant difference between simulation and reality; sometimes, what appears highly plausible on paper or in simulations does not translate to actual events when you really think about it. @scoobdog I'm not sure about the best example, but I recall that in the 1920s, a novel was published by someone who supposedly predicted the Allied island-hopping campaign in World War II. The author was considered crazy, or so I heard from the History Channel back in the late '90s and early 2000s. Of course, it's the History Channel.
I don't necessarily defend my position, and you're bringing up the old warmonger, Ghostrek. I just think the likelihood of China being able to pull off such an operation is high. I don't believe the US government would respond, but some citizens, like myself, who believe in freedom and democratic allies might take action similar to the Eagle Squadron from the RAF during World War II. However, I want to clarify that I am 95% convinced it would be a very foolish idea for me to do that.
